Portraits now too complicated

Have other folks complained about how complex portraits are now?

I'd like to pick a background, frame, look etc. Once and have each class / outfit that I wear be fitted to that style. Automagically. Every time I swap jobs or go to a dungeon I get a complaint about how my portrait is wrong. Well how about I do the style once?

Do we have that option? I have not found it.

Isn't this a case of a minor feature growing to overwhelm? I would like a nice portrait, once, and then move on with my life here in the game.

I could see a good QoL being something like "copy settings from X job" or something if you wanted to use the same poses and such on different jobs.

I really want a setting that says use this plate design, including character facing camera stuff, for all my jobs. And update it with every costume change same or another button. Set it once and forget it.

I think that's a reasonable ask. Hopefully they can look into it. I like to use different poses and such on mine so not as useful for someone like me but I think it would be a good addition so someone can have a basic portrait so they're not stuck with the DMV pic all the time.

Right click any portrait and select Import. You can then pick what one you wanna import.
There are additional options as well for importing to and from your adventurer plate.

I’ve stopped using them because system resets every time I glamour change or upgrade my gear. I don’t see why my portrait has to match my appearance exactly…. That’s not how portraits work irl now is it?

Same. I tried using them for a bit when they were new, got frustrated by how persnickety the system is and decided it's not worth my time or energy.

100% agree this is actually the only thing that bother me with portrait.

I think it's because for some reason, your portrait data do not have your glam information, or rather it's not saved, unlike the adventure plate which is probably stored as a "screenshot", thus it remain the same even after you change the character. Instead I'm about 99% sure portrait are generated "live" each time it is shown, base on several settings, and one of those is whatever glamour you have at the time.
