    Current system has massive issues even if the game mode itself is pretty fun.

    Most of the Ranked rewards are one and done, so there's very little reason to push it beyond your first season. Only thing that changes is number in your plates, even the titles are the same.
    They did add the weapon glow and it brought few new names into the higher ranked matches, but how many Seasons are people going to go for them? Unless they are collector, people will get one or two they like the most wheter its main or alt Jobs.
    You also get equal amount of tomes, marks and whatnot from playing Casual so there's even less reason to play Ranked.

    Casual pops throughout the day, so there is plenty of players queueing up. Unless they unify the queues or give good enough rewards for all the Ranked seasons, it will remain a short burst for regulars at the early Season and maybe a last minute squeeze during final day or two.

    PvP forums have had a lot of discussion about potential rewards and fixes.
    I'd like to see them implement at least some of them to push for activity.

    1) Rewards
    Incentivize participation below Diamond down to Bronze, make it not be seasonal carbon copies of extremely undesirable Framer Kits and a currency you farm casually everywhere else. It isnt even a lot of Trophy Crystals I mean you get 3000 at Gold - you get that in the time you REACH gold as the average player gold player.

    Yes there are more things wrong with Ranked but let's stop going ij circles, the average western player does not lift a finger for inadequate rewards for duties where they genuinely need to try.

    2.) Ranking System
    They should honestly just go back to the Elo-type system from The Feast with some adjustments to make lower ranks not fall out of queues as season progressses.

    Yes this will involve being able to derank all the way down, but hear me out - right now if you are in a skill tier like Gold your progress to plat is fairly linear unless you win streak. But if you dont you can lose all your wins from 5 matches within another 5 matches. Obviously this does not necessarily reflect your actual skill level.

    In Elo system you gained 25 with a win and lost 5, 10, 15, 20 or 25 with a loss, based on your skill tier. This meant that even though you may lose a gair bit of games in Bronze, you are still progressing with a 20% winrate and it makes sense since you are learning from your losses.

    You also didn't immediately derank if you fell below the threshold once - you had five matches before it degraded your tier. It also had no bearing to your end of season reward if you did.

    Lastly, it has tier promo matches where youd have to win in a personal best of 5 matches to continue. Rating would accumulate but you wouldnt get dropped into the hardest matches yet.

    The old system was genuinely better overall, the issue was primarily the rating gaps and how difficult it might get to get matches at Unranked to Silver later in a season, a mix from somewhat pale rewards (only wolf collars at season end) and the forced role queue of 1111.

    3) Job Changes
    Some jobs are imo genuinely too strong right now. Dragoon's recent series of buffs on top of their previously buffed cooldown of Roar make them an absolute menace. They do a lot of very reliable damage, have absurd mobility to both get in and get out and have borderline godtier survival tools. On top of that due to how popular DRG is mirrormatches happen and a lack of enemy-coloured LB marks becomes more of a problem - Im a fairly skilled player myself and even I get bamboozled by this even with the partylist in heat of combat.

    The usual, Polymorph/Miracle needs to burn and just be a Silence, give WHM compensation buffs if it is that bad.

    PLD I just wish to see reworked. On one hand you can play around Cover but on the other I think PLD suffers with its kit from having so much of the power budget drained by this skill. I wish we had Intervention instead and PLD be adjusted in other places, like Confiteor giving "Divine Might" giving you a Holy Spirit/Circle to cast and interact with.

    Seems like it's unusually quiet for end of Season. Usually the queue will pop during the last week for a bit but it's been dead for some days now.

    Update: It started to pop, here we go.
