You might not believe me, but that's exact guidance I use, generally not pressing people after first thrown words.Been here for 8 years and my way of speaking to people hasn't changed nor is it even being careful on eggshells: it's just a matter of being simple and getting to what the actual problem is and making your peace that anyone can report you for anything. That's all.
Thing is, there are people that think getting to the person first before the problem is the way to handle situations, then get confused that people accuse them of toxicity and go for reports because they spoke neutrally. Unfortunate because while speaking neutrally should be just taken as that and everyone is on their way, there's a big difference between saying "your tactic is bad" and "we need to change tactics". Same as "your messing up this mechanic" vs "this mechanic can be cleared by doing this". Nothing guarantees that the latter both cases is going to be well received all the time but their chances do go up significantly. Now personally, while I do use this, I don't stick to it all the time as there are obviously going to be situations where you're going to have to address directly someone but as usual, the key-in this game at least-is to always speak concisely as possible and more importantly, keep it at a one time thing. Don't push it. If it's rejected, leave it- another thing that some people also can't seem to do.
That sort of respect should be shown to all human beings. Which is why leaders of countries show it to eachother. Our leaders lead by example, you could say.
Saying that citizens of countries should just be rude and obnoxious to eachother is ridiculous. Yes, it may be common that they are like this to eachother, but that does not mean Square Enix should allow such awful behaviour on their playground.
You are a guest in Square Enix's house. When you are a guest in anyone's house, you are polite and respectful. If you are not, you often get kicked out. No different here.
It's not even about what you say, it's about how you say it, as I explained.

Just so I understand the latter part of this post, you were mad that people were performing the objectives in a match that has objectives instead of ignoring them and doing what you wanted?Issues builds up till critical mass, don't worry. But speaking about THE issue, the rules are the rules, they can be applied any time even if you were spared all this time.
I will be honest I am not cute speaking guy, I was issued a warning today (I undrestand how pathetic the post looks now in that backgound) and of course GM won't tell what I said wrong (I can somewhat undrestand that policy). But thenI ask you to believe me that I don't ever have intentions to offense a person individually behind computer, but I let myself use profanity words like "shit" or "fuck me" in regard of situations (without adressing to someone personally). Words, which every kindergarden kid knows and use! I am not even like that in real life, and that's why I love the game to take on another life/personality (sounds like roleplaying in roleplay game).
Then there was that situation. New controversial frontline frozen map with a lot of spawning pinatas-objectives which gives points for breaking it. The team solely focusing on objectives instead actually pvp-ing (not gaining more dps with kills-ranks and not controling the juiciest crystals) lose the game. So, in the very start of the match (chat was "sterile") I decided to bring the mood and typed in /shout "If you focus on crystals, I put them where light doesn't shine." It felt like trainer telling you not to suck this time and win. You can tell that cringe (what isn't really), but I am sure a lot of people would find that endearing and prefer that to (again) completely sterile chat for a minute. But guess what, if ONE person tell GM it made him a bit sad, BOOM - I am in trouble.
I'm overly sarcastic with a weird sense of humor and minimal filter, and I've never heard from a GM about it.
The secret is not swearing or using obvious insults or slurs. Most of the moderation is probably automated. You hit the filter, you're getting a warning.
It's not automated. They react to player reports, so a lot of this behaviour goes through without anyone noticing until it's reported.I'm overly sarcastic with a weird sense of humor and minimal filter, and I've never heard from a GM about it.

Lmao learn to speak passive aggressively:
"Can you guys kill this boss any slower"
"Wow I looked for a long time and I can't find any brains here"
"Good job!"
I wasn't mad. It was the very start of the match (start countdown) to be mad at anything, I just decided to advice in that vulgar and invigorating manner. Mostly to enjoy use of that poetic phrase then advice really, but it didn't hurt to have actual meaning behind it (or so I thought). Funny thing is I can't be sure if that was the case or another instance of my performence.
Assuming it's Shatter, actually yes? If you don't get some BH5s you're going to get obliterated towards the end. You sound like you think it's smart to let the other two teams farm each other for BH5 while you focus on the crystals. Guess what, if you do that and start gaining points over them they'll come for you and you'll have zero BH5s to fight back.

Some people might tell you're trolling with part about SE's house. And guests don't exactly pay for visiting. What is this, McDonalds employee brainwash (as much as I respect the buisness)? That sort of respect should be shown to all human beings. Which is why leaders of countries show it to eachother.
