1) Geomancer.I want to see jobs with gameplay that is truly distinct from what's already out there. Half-baked ideas include:
- A tank that is a mage, whose moment-to-moment gameplay is using defensive spells to mitigate, negate, and absorb damage, thus protecting their meager health pool.
- A non-magical healer who primarily heals via melee.
- A caster DPS whose kit is almost entirely devoted to increasing the damage dealt by one or more other party members.
I get why there aren't classes like this already; it's significantly more difficult to balance a game when the classes are less homogeneous. But there's a lot of possibility space out there, and I'd love to see CBU3 explore it a bit more if they can find the bandwidth!
- A melee DPS with a kit almost entirely comprised of gap-closers and gap-openers, so they are frequently making swift movements in and out as part of their primary rotation.
And not a new job, but I'd love to see the 7.0 DRG rework include the ability to jump up and stay in the air for a handful of seconds (avoiding damage) before landing and doing an attack. Y'know, like Dragoons do in the other Final Fantasy games.
2) Cleric? Two handed mace gameplay
3) Magic Support (Basically a cater bard, something like Oracle)
4) 7.0 dragoon rework (Hopefully!) a more FF9 inspired dragoon gameplay loop with jumps and long range throws.
