Game Crashing

I came back Friday, played thru Fri-Mon with no issues. Nothing on my end has changed, but today I started to experience crashing most notable when I'm alt-tabbed.

Usually the game just poofs from the taskbar with no pop up. I have had this happen before but updating my graphic drivers seemed to fix it. This time around updated Windows 10, updated Graphic drivers, restarted computer and it's not working this time around.

If I do get a pop-up it's the "An Unexpected Error has Occurred. Exiting Final Fantasy XIV." I tried switch to DX9 that seemed to fix it but then it crashed right when I clicked to get in to a dungeon.

It seems that if I play on DX11 and don't alt-tab its good but if I alt-tab their is a 50-50 that it might crash.

- Are you running any addition programs alongside Final Fantasy XIV?
- Does this crash occur on more than one character?
- Were any system updates, driver updates or changes made to the PC at the time of the crash?
- Does this crash occur if the game is run in full screen mode? Does the crash occur when alt-tabbing while in borderless or windowed mode?

I would recommend performing a clean boot by opening your Task Manager, navigating to the 'Start Up' tab, and disabling all applications listed there. Once done, restart the PC and attempt to run the game again. This will minimize the chances of another program potentially conflicting with the FFXIV client. Below are some other troubleshooting steps that you can try, as they may help with the crashes:

- Ensure that any anti-virus programs on your system have the appropriate exceptions made for FINAL FANTASY XIV.
- Disable and overlays, mods, injectors, or customer configurations made using driver-level programs (Nvidia Control Panel, Radeon Crimson, Steam Overlay, etc.)
- Update and reinstall the drivers for your graphics card and sound drivers.
