Just food for thought, instead of the relics being lackluster and basically useless by the time they release (With the exception of the expansions final patch relic being BiS), They grew in power week by week.

Just a small quest chain every week, starting the same patch savage is released, incentivizing players to log in and play the game and take part in roulettes and activities throughout the entirety of the expansion instead of a single quest every 4 months.

They would not be overpowered if they scaled correctly, increasing in item level every week until they reach the patch's current item level cap (Savage weapon ilvl) and stopping there until the next major patch release.

This basically means that after 15 weeks, People who did not clear savage, or fell behind, static broke down or just don't care for raiding in general, will have access to a weapon on par with everyone else.

This would even work for the Artifact weapons and armor you receive at the end of the expansions MSQ. An alternative upgraded gear set that evolves and grows with you as the expansion goes on, that is completely optional and provides the game with some much need 'mid patch' content to keep people playing.

Missed a week? No problem! The questline for all previous weeks would not have a weekly limit on them, allowing you to just grind out all the previous week's progress in your own time without getting stuck behind everyone else.
