You're the one being disingenuous.Clearly, everyone complaining has done everything.
They've all completed their best in slot gear from the current savage raid, they've played all the jobs to 90, they've cleared all the legacy raids on BLU, they've farmed out all their mounts from EX trials so far, they're omni crafters...
...except the most vocal haven't done any of that. They have one combat job finished, have a couple crafters leveled, don't have any raid gear or achievements. When they say "no content" what they mean is "I don't want to do *that* content*.
It's disingenuous.
Playing a game for fun, what a novel concept.
It's obvious those who complain are actually talking about content they want to do, why would anyone pay a sub to do chores like completing 10k S-rank EW hunts.
It's up to SE to offer enough content that all players have something to do, it's part of the implicit contract when they sell a monthly sub, and not our responsability to do that content if it's not up to our taste. Then our options are complaining about it or leave. Which one do you think SE prefer?

This is what the content of the game has been since ARR. If you're asking for a square peg to go into a round hole, it's okay to not play the game and go do something you do enjoy.

during arr at least the content lasted the entire patch even when the next patch came out i wasn't fully finished all pieces of content. The arr relic alone during the atma and the previous step it took more then just one patch for me to finish a step.

No MMO developer is ever going to be able to keep every single player busy the entire time they are subscribed with new content. Even with how incredibly grindy and time-consuming EverQuest was, I needed alts to keep myself busy until the next expansion because I played so much. It's up to SE to offer enough content that all players have something to do, it's part of the implicit contract when they sell a monthly sub, and not our responsability to do that content if it's not up to our taste. And what makes completing 10k S rank hunts to get a reward (achievement) to fill time before an expansion a chore but sitting in a single zone like Eureka or Bozja grinding the same thing day in and day out to get a reward (item) isn't a chore? I think people gloss over that they're both repetitive tasks that lead to some thing that someone wants. It's not really new or varied content.
Surely an MMO developer on the size of Square Enix can make content that lasts more than 2 days and also has 5-6 months in between patches. No MMO developer is ever going to be able to keep every single player busy the entire time they are subscribed with new content. I also feel they could do some boosting on things a bit but it's still not going to last forever.
And a lot of suggestions or desires when this topic comes up boils down to someone still wants repetitive content but they want repetitive content in their own personal flavor. With the varied playstyles we have in the playerbase, that's a near impossible task. People mention the old achievements and such because that's repetitive content already in the game and is something there put for us to work toward in these downtimes.
A lot of people want challenging content, that's all they are asking for, and FFXIV doesnt provide that unfortunately, savage is only fun for a while before it gets boring, you could also repeat ultimate for the 10000000th time, but it's all bland.I also feel they could do some boosting on things a bit but it's still not going to last forever.

Playing Final Fantasy XIV isn't about having "fun". It's about having status. You see, you can only discuss the game if you all mounts, all minions, all fights cleared, mentor status, every achievement, all ultimate titles, all rare titles, etc.
Fully agreed. FFXIV was never meant to be someone's "main game" like WoW, GW2, Genshin, Diablo 4 or any other live-service game. It's a side game you play once or twice a week before playing other games. For just $13 a month, you can play all the other games you want as long as they're free. There are so many other games comming out, I'm honestly kind of glad we have to wait for around a year. Gives me enough free time to catch up on my steam wish list as well ^_^. This is fully in line with the FFXIV design philosophy. And over the years, I started to really appreciate this choice in direction more and more.
Yoshi-P understands that a good game is one that gets out of your hair so you can play even better games. Let's be honest here, who really wants to play FFXIV when Baldur's Gate 3 just came out? No one. Yoshi-P understands us. Which is why FFXIV has no content. Except it does have content, you just don't want to do it. (Am I getting that right?)

No MMO developper is going to be able to keep every single player subbed but surely they can do better than XIV.No MMO developer is ever going to be able to keep every single player busy the entire time they are subscribed with new content. More often than not lately I've been twiddling my thumbs IG, logging with a desire to play but finding nothing to do outside of raiding with the static and boring stuff I've done a million times already like roulettes.
And it's been like that for a while despite work and the numerous gaming releases from 2023 keeping me busy.
