Yea it was pretty sad but it shows that there’s truth because it does hurt SE bottom line at the end the day.
Wish they’d do something with the feedback and posts explaining what’s wrong, but we know they don’t unless it gets to Shadowlands levels of disaster.
I coulda told you that. They have never done an x.6 or x.7 before, no reason to think they would start now.
Well, you can do all of those things and still think the wait is going to drag on for new content. And I'm someone who has a job, goes to the gym, doesn't eat cheese puffs, and plays other games when I'm bored.
MSQ Pt1(About as much as normal patch) & Pt2 (Prologue for expansion)
Trial/Ex
Varient/Criterion
24m
Allied Tribe
Tataru
Hildi
Additional Trial (Asura)
Relic Weapons
Relic Craft/Gather
Crossover Fall Guys
Crossover FFXVI (Yoshi P in talks with Yoshi P, info later this year, but are shooting sometime before 7.0)
Think thats about it, a healthy chunk of content but yeah not enough to last like 3/4 of the year for most folks, all good plenty of great games out this an next year.
I actually played the game, and beat most of what I want from it. Hell, there's content I haven't even touched yet (Most of the Gold Saucer, Unreals, Ultimates, etc).
You can't expect a game to constantly spit out new content. We get a delayed launch for 7.0, and that sucks, but don't act like other expansions weren't "dead" after the x.5 patches either.
I don't think anyone is expecting constant new content - it's unrealistic. But the release cadence has definitely slowed down from the schedule XIV has been on in the past, and while the game is still doing well - it's never a good sign. Kind of like how ESO is selling a quarter of no new content as "quality of life" instead of just saying there is less content.I actually played the game, and beat most of what I want from it. I think one theme is that people relied on not only the game staying to it's old schedule, but also the relic grind to occupy them during the lulls. Longer patch cycles + no real grind this time on the relic is leaving people bored faster than usual.

On one hand, true. On the other, we both know that even if we got another Bozja/Eureka people would probably find something else to complain about.
Not excusing the longer developement cycle, hell I was hoping to get 7.0 by December 2023 at the latest, but it is what it is. Either unsub and come back closer to 7.0 or find something else to do in game, there's tons of optional content to keep oneself occupied. Maybe it's just me being old, but MMOs have always been like this, cycles of "alive" and "dead" moving alongside patches.
You either hang on through player events/optional content, or cycle through MMOs/Other games.
ShB was very much not dead because of Bozja and Zadnor was lively and full all the way until 6.0.I actually played the game, and beat most of what I want from it. Hell, there's content I haven't even touched yet (Most of the Gold Saucer, Unreals, Ultimates, etc).

So I would recommend you repair your faulty memory.
This isn't really delayed. They're getting back to their normal expansion schedule. Endwalker was the outlier. It's usually late spring/early summer.I actually played the game, and beat most of what I want from it.
