Could have easily been the ShB Extreme reward instead of Landerwaffe, with the latter being a BLU or current tier Savage reward.

And the shadowbeast mount could have been the BLU Eden mount but the mogstation snatched that one away from us, along with any incentive i had to play BLU this patch.

Yeah, it sort of ruins the motivation to even farm extreme trials in the future if the final reward mounts are going to be this disappointing and wildly different from the theme that was farmed for. Why they chose to break a formula that worked and inspired a lot of people to step into higher end content is somewhat disheartening and might unfortunately make many reconsider how much time they spend in game next expansion.

I mean it's not even that I don't think the mount is interesting or hilarious, etc. It's just the fact that it has nothing to do with the lynx mounts. It feels a bit like running a marathon and instead of being awarded a trophy or medal you get a balloon animal or something. Like sure, I love balloon animals. I don't want one as a reward for that though.

I get it, it's very left field, even more left field than the meta-mount for a bunch of dragons being a robot that looks like a dragon. If I were to honestly make a guess, it makes me wonder whether there was a production difficulty that meant they couldn't make the intended mount but they had this one waiting in the wings to fill the gap.

Yeah I can get that viewpoint. For me I was kinda dreading if the 7 mount reward was some sort of big shaggy cat so I'm actually kind of happy with this silliness.
