Does it actually state the other player's platform, or does it only state if the other player is using a PS?

If it only states the other player is using PS, then they won't know if the other player is using PC, Mac or Xbox.

Wonder which group of people are going to be the target of FFXIV's anger in a few months? Who will be blamed for everything?

(Note: I do not genuinely believe this is the most welcoming MMO. It is one of the least for new players. Toxic positivity- LOTRO, Neverwinter, and SW:TOR outshine it).

The reason why people are, maybe rightfully, angered by this is cause the game suffers from being available on so many platforms. Cause content is limited to the performance of some gaming systems. PCs can always be upgraded, the stats of a console are fix for years to come and old consoles have to be supported for even longer.

And now the devs have to keep another console in mind. Which maybe will impact the games development even more.

FFXIV fans and Xbox fans are natural enemies. Like FFXIV fans and PS fans, or FFXIV fans and PC fans, or FFXIV fans and other FFXIV fans.

As a PS5 player myself, I'm indifferent to XBox.

Xbox Series X is more powerful than the PS5 (and obviously the PS4). If anything, PS5 is now holding the game back and we should ditch the PS5 support as soon as possible.

But, also, Xbox is less likely to hold back the game anyway. Xbox runs on a modified version of Windows 11 (hence why Microsoft can release games day and date on PC), so it is much, much easier to produce something for the Series X/S than it is to produce something for Sony now. Since, Xbox is essentially getting the PC version, with a couple of small changes to optimisation.
