yeah i know thus is ff14 and not 16. i'm sry, pls bear with it.

i've just seen the ff16 ost on the square store.
the standard edition (which is limited???) contains 7 CDs

the ultimate edition(which if course is also limited) contains 8 CD's with more songs (which means there are several songs missing in the standard version)

neither of both versions contsins the title song moongazing... really? an ost without title song?


is there a way to buy ALL ff16 soundtracks on like one or two CD's? or, if not, for download?

no, people haven't been able to rip ps5 assets yet, and the youtube videos that exist for music not on the OST are recorded, not ripped. Which is fine in most cases but has many issues when it comes to several boss BGMs, because going into LB etc. change the dynamics of the music temporarily. there has always been regular and limited edition versions of soundtracks for Final Fantasy. Marketing!

Also the theme song most likely needs special agreements to appear on another label's music release as it was most likely handled by an outside source than the Square Enix Music label, as the artist is not an in house artist. Hence why it is not on the XVI soundtrack.

In addition, it was split over 7/8 CD's because of the sheer number of tracks involved. Blu-ray disc was considered but Soken nixed the idea because producing a blu-ray disc involves creating video assets as well as the usual audio stuff and between doing XVI AND XIV he just does not have the time to do it.
