I just don't see Zero... living it up on this island. Either we're probably leaving her behind somewhere or she's gonna be killed.

In other news, there is no technical debt from 1.0.

I never understand why people seem to be out for blood regarding the Scions. Sure, killing off a character can be good for dramatic reasons, but it can also be lazy and forced. I for one liked that Endwalker ended on a positive note regarding our main cast, its a story about hope after all, and would rather they get retired then knocked off. That way they can come back if needed, there are still arcs and stories they can tell.
Save an expansion : Kill a scion :3
Can I sacrifice Thancred to bring back Papalymo?

I would get rid of most of them. We've spent 10 years with the scions, it's time for a new slate in my opinion. I would keep Y'shtola on board just because she has the unfinished bit with traveling back to the First / finding out a way to travel to other shards, but other than that I wouldn't mind if some Scions went away. Not necessarily died but take a long break away from the MSQ.
Any/all. But if I had to ration it, G'raha and Krile.
When the game's story becomes self-aware:
I've been saying for ages they should rotate/retire some of the Scions but keeps others around. We haven't seen the full trailer and we haven't seen Krile (*sigh*) yet either, despite the hype around her increased importance.
6.1 was the perfect opportunity to shake up the main cast and 7.0 was the next best opportunity they had. Yet, they ignored it both times. I think it will simply never happen for the next 10 years.
They saw the success of Shadowbringers, so everything from now on will follow the same template until it doesn't work anymore.
For example, have Thancred die in Shadowbringers instead of the pointless fake out they did and let Ryne pick up the Gunblade in his place. This opens up a new potential arc for her while keeping a familiar face we've spent most of Shadowbringers with. How does she go back to the first? Make up some excuse that lets her travel to the Source but necessitates someone else staying behind. Now we can let Y'shtola rest for a while. I'd also shuffle out Urianger allow more focus on new characters alongside the remaining Scions. With Endwalker concluding, you could then have Alphinaud step back, perhaps to help Sharlayan embrace a more open diplomatic approach. Makes perfect sense for his father to ask for Alphinaud's worldly experience while being a nice full circle moment to his Crystal Braves arc. Allaise could maybe stick around but I'd be tempted to give her an expansion off too.
The whole idea is not to toss the Scions away wholesale and never mention them again but to give us a chance to actually miss them. Four years without Y'shtola being a main characters let het come back and have a genuinely big moment because we wouldn't have seen her for a long time. Whereas nowadays, all I do is roll my eyes whenever they try to sell a dramatic moment of her "sacrificing" herself because she's done it four damn times.

Didn't they finally kill Sylvanas off? I thought I read it somewhere, but I'm not gonna resub to WoW just to find out.
A lot of these characters are done developing and could've been left behind at best, or killed at worst. If Graha had died in 5.3, he could have gone out as a hero with a tragic end. Since he lived, he's basically done a cool gravity save in endwalker, and in the new trailer he's eaten a taco for the fangirls. It's like this for most of these characters. They're done, but they stick around because fans would be sad if they died. But they persist in these zombie forms that just spout memes for us to record in webm/gif format and don't do a whole lot of substantial development. Meanwhile, characters with room to develop have to compete for screentime with characters who could've been written out for a season without affecting the story at all.
Don't get me wrong, I don't particularly mind if these characters live. But if they're going to stick around, I wish the writers would do something interesting with them on a personal level. Having Thancred stick around just to be like "This is Thancred!" for the fans is so shallow and cheesy compared to the Thancred in ShB who was struggling hard with his guilt surrounding Minfilia and dumping a ton of his personal issues onto Ryne. Like, remember when these people had demons to work through? lol. Now they just eat tacos and drink punch, it's so stupid. Why are they here? What do they even want on a deep personal level? What are they doing to accomplish that? Do we even care anymore? It doesn't seem like it. Everyone's just here for the meme screenshot. Haha, Yshtola said she'd spank us! Can't wait to react to that on twitter!
G'raha Tia drinks the water and eats a Big Fat Taco in South America and dies from horrific diarrhea.
The menacing aura of every Lalafell.
