Man I played more Blitzball than I did the actual content of FFX. Seriously spent too much time getting crap for Wakka (that's how it's spelled right?). I found out early you get XP for completed actions so as soon as I got the ball I would swim to my nearest teammate and quick pass between them several times until a defender got close and then I'd hail mary pass to Ditto or whatever his name was or Tidus for an easy goal. Rinse and repeat the entire round and I would level several times per half.
Since they really only gain XP on completed actions on YOU and not against other teams (If I remember correctly or they at least only get a small XP boost per game)...it was lopsided real quick. Keepa becomes a real beast of a goalie and THE best one at 99.
When you deal with human beings, never count on logic or consistency.
Fluid like water. Smooth like silk. Pepperoni like pizza.

I had to look this up since Id never played FF 10. This looks..AMAZING.
An absolute three dimensional arena, freeform movement and I loved the gameplay.
Congratulations folks, youve just found another voice for the sport.![]()

The problem with XP was that other teams got it just as much as you did.. you could never really power ahead for example. Because if you got ditto to level 50 off example you'd suddenly find a bunch of other characters suddenly became level 50 when you played the next match.. they were all inter connected into groups. You could see this especially if you powered up one character but left the rest ofnyour team low. Every other team would have the same thing. 1 high level player and 4 lows.Man I played more Blitzball than I did the actual content of FFX. Kinda made it a pain because no matter how much you invested in building up the aurochs they'd always end up falling behind.

I never had that problem nor ever lost a match. Once you beat the hardest match ever which is the forced 1st one it's pretty much your game. I was having Tidus making shots from the other side of the map. I wonder if they fixed it in the PS4 version. I heard that was based off of the International version which was harder all around...even had the Black Aeons which was the real endgame. The problem with XP was that other teams got it just as much as you did.. you could never really power ahead for example. Blitzball makes no sense as presented in FFX. It's a full contact sport that takes place underwater. Not only are the physics actually impossible (what are they pushing off of, anyways?) but you'd really need some sort of water breathing magic. Otherwise, a good hit in the right place in the torso will cause you to involuntary inhale; so that you'd drown before you could get out of the arena.
But if you like it, go for it. It's still better than chasing Chops in FFXII or the Card game in FFIX.

Whether you like Blitzball or not, you have to admit if they did put it in, it would get played for all of two weeks or so then be promptly forgotten. Just like very other major Gold Saucer addition. (If you ever feel your existence in life is pointless, just remember, someone at SquareEnix still has to come up with a Lord of Verminion move for every minion that comes out)

We're getting something much better!

...and why? It doesn't have to be on the level of real life football to be enjoyable. And that's a good thing!
Blitzball should be a big deal, a world wide phenomenon with grand arenas and national teams not some underground sport nobody cares about.
This is impossible on the Source at this point.
No, Blitzball has to be from a different shard where it's a big deal.
