Final fantasy keeps crashing (dx11 error)

I have seen other messages about it yet none of the solution have worked for me therefore i am making my own post hoping that someone will be able to help

When i try to log into my character, the game keeps crashing on the loading screen with this type of error message



This morning i switch to dx9 again (which i ahd already tried), managed to play a little but before it crashed again

Things that I have already tried :
- switch to dx9
- updating my rivers
- uninstall and installing again (7 times counting)
- put NVIDIA control panel on debug mode

As a note: i cannot have FF on my C drive because there is no space, but i have already managed to play hundreds of hours on an external drive

Greetings zephyroh,

I'm very sorry to hear that you've been experiencing this crashing and are unable to continue with the game. I'd like to ask does this also occur on other characters or other locations? or has this only been occurring in a specific zone or on specific characters?

I would like to recommend giving these troubleshooting steps a try as they may help with the crashing that you've been experiencing:

- As you did mention you had updated graphics drivers, have you tried a full clean reinstall for your graphics card drivers?
- Manually update the sound driver if available/possible as it does appear to still be using a 2022 driver. (If this is the latest driver then you may ignore this)
- Update your Windows OS. Make sure to install any optional updates that may be available.
- Disable any programs/overlays running in the background (Discord, Nvidia, MSI Afterburner, etc.)
- You may also try to perform a clean boot by opening the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything. Then once the system reboots with only the essentials, try to run the game once more.
- Make sure that any anti-virus/firewall programs on your PC are either temporarily disabled or has the appropriate exceptions made for Final Fantasy XIV when patching or re-installing to ensure no files get blocked or become corrupted.
- Turn off Fullscreen Optimizations. Find the executable file for the game (normally found in the install folder), right click it and select 'Properties'. Under the 'Compatibility' tab, check the box labeled 'Disable Fullscreen Optimizations', then click 'Apply'.
