New Eureka/Bozja like content
MSQ being separated from multiplayer duties and no longer gating access to areas or content. Separating it would grant them far more creative freedom in the design of 4 player duties, essentially removing the whole mindset of "has to be easy so anyone can see the story"
Horizontal progression systems that involve new types of bonuses being available on gear pieces and/or bonuses for wearing full sets that would allow players to make more varied item builds and allow gear to stay relevant ilvl wise much longer for endgame content. The current system of toss out all your old stuff when the content update hits got tiresome years ago.
Overhaul to glamour system/plates that simply does similar to many other games where obtaining an item registers it's appearance in a log you can use later. If they could also make this log account wide that would be even better. (and simplify a bit of the costumes in the mogstation since you'd just buy the unlock in the glamour log.
Alts on the same world automatically being registered as guests/room mate/something if you buy a house on your main so they all have access to it. Bonus points if said characters on the world not being played could be seen lounging around the house while in game on one of your characters.
Of all the games I thought would require me to upgrade my PC, I didn't think FFXIV would be the one. With 7.0's graphics update, I go from meeting or exceeding the recommended specs to no longer meeting the minimum requirements. FML.
I always assumed the graphics change would be opt-in, too...? Seems like it's mandatory, though.
It's really only my CPU holding me back, but why buy a new processor just for my old clunker of a system? Might as well get a whole new rig. God, this is going to be such a pain in the butt. I can't believe I can run Baldur's Gate 3 and not FFXIV. What timeline even is this!?
At least I have a one year buffer to figure it out.
Things can change but i am disappointed from what we have seen so far. Won't know for sure til japan fan fest. It seem more of the same and just have to hope the raids carry the expansion much like pandemonium did for end walker.
Upscaling which is basically what they did in the past dropping PS3 support doesn't make much of an impact to PC players since our settings tabs give us far more control over things due to the abundance of hardware configurations. This however appears to be a total overhaul which many believe will support new in game options such as an improved character creator.Of all the games I thought would require me to upgrade my PC, I didn't think FFXIV would be the one. I mean a 6700k meets minimum requirements pretty easily, with room inbetween and less than $200, i'd honestly just go for a 10th gen i5 for $200 and be done with itOf all the games I thought would require me to upgrade my PC, I didn't think FFXIV would be the one. 1) There's an area above the currently revealed section that might be where the other zones are (seeing as the currently revealed section is really small for six zones)
2) Would you even really want a gimped version of Meracydia with only a couple zones? The least compelling areas in the world are the ones from Stormblood and Endwalker as they have to share screentime with other areas. Wouldn't it be better if Meracydia was saved for 8.0 so it could be as fleshed out as possible?
Everything is ok, I guess. Not a fan of the theme. I know its not the full theme but it sounds too 'similar' I think.
On the world map they showed, northern New world was completely obscured in clouds, while Meracydia is only partially covered.1) There's an area above the currently revealed section that might be where the other zones are (seeing as the currently revealed section is really small for six zones)

But yeah, I doubt that even if Meracydia got to be 8.0 that they wouldn't split focus like Stormblood and endwalker. Shadowbringers was lucky since it was it's own shard and could just show alternate versions of Eorzea.
We'll just have to see what happens.
My expectations are that people will *love* it for the story and then all quit because the game has no content that any sane human being enjoys past it besides 4 raid encounters.
Inb4 some clown mentions Majong, Verminion or some other boring ass minigame nobody plays.
