As for bad players getting a second chance, you must realize the GMs know if a person has changed their name, and that's what matters

does changing your name, your gender, heck even your race is logical while role playing in this kind of setting?
I don't know, but I don't think it's possible. Currently this setting doesn't have the proper technology to do so. what do you think?

Of course, they have the plot device to do so (Dalamud), but it was more re-implement this setting into a new engine, like perhaps from watching SD to HD

Who said all of us were role playing O_o? People want to change their names for the sake of changing their names. It's not a game breaking mechanic, it's not anything bad. People just want to change their names either because 1) They're tired of their name. 2) It won't look right if they change their gender/race. 3) They're changing it for the sake of changing it because they have the option to. Or last and foremost 4) They just want to simply change their name. I'm not saying these are facts mind you, and I'm not saying that these are what most people want, this is what I think of when I have the option to change my name or if I want to change my name

I don't see any reason why people should even argue if they can change their name or not. The argument of simply "Roleplaying" does not help either you or anyone who uses that said argument. Changing their characters name is fine if it's only for just one time, hell shouldn't hurt anyone really maybe SE because they have to go through their database to change some data.

I think they said back with the server merge any name changes are represented in your social / black lists. so if you blacklist sir douchebag and he changes his name to sir hidefrombadrep they'll still be in your black list.

that said changing names if changing genders seems pretty much common sense. manq'ote called "miss kitty" LOL

There is magic. I'm sure there is a spell to change the gender which some specialist medic know. And for name change, if you change your gender you change your first name, if you married someone you change your last name.

Guess what? This is a GAME! Give us the abilty to swap race and gender, and go ye that's alright.. but to change name!? What is this MADNESS!!! This is a fantasy game, it makes no sense to change your name!! Realy?
Look at it this way, if you can't see a reason ingame lorewise to it. We always where, the new race/gender with the new name before 2.0. The only one who notices it is the players, who also notice the WORLD CHANGING!!! Realy now is it that hard or disagreeable for a name change?

I want a name change with gender change, not havin Mancat called Zaria Faye. And Tell me to re roll? And then whats the point of playing now? Whats the point of working on this character, if im to just make a new one?
