It's like those who rolled F.Miq because they wanted to be a cat-person but since there was no male option chose a feminine name.

Now at 2.0, we'll be able to re-choose our race/appearance so wouldn't it be silly if you saw a really strong looking M.Miq called "Kittyfluffy Starshimmer" or whatever.

You don't have to want to change your name, that's totally cool but there's good reason for others wanting to do it.

bit weird question, if we want to use another gender in 2.0 or another "species" we might think the name we used for old character is not fitting the new one... not sure what is hard to understand...

Some people that are heavy into the game's lore might take advantage of the name change. Ferne released an explanation awhile back how Lalafell names work. Call me crazy but some people just might change their race to Lalafell and just might wanna change their name to feel more tied to their race, the RP community comes to mind when I think of this.

example: the name Barue Marue is 1A ok for a Lalafell, but not for a female Highlander.

I change my female Miqo'te to a male Miqo'te and I hope I can change my first name a bit. Maybe to "Soak Felis"
