A Glamourers complaints and feedback

Hello everyone
First I’d like to say that English is not my first language, so I apologise for any mistakes or typos ahead
For the sake of maxed out letters let’s start with:

-Beards

I don’t know if the community doesn’t talk about this enough or SE simply don’t like beards. But what i know for sure is that beards are so expressive for a lot of people and means a lot to the character. it’s actually shocking that the Hrothgar gets updated hairstyles every patch and yet no proper beards whatsoever? can think of only 3 types of beards that are okayish and they’re technically scratched beards
So please add new and proper beards.

-Hide ears/tails

this should be obvious because a lot of gear just looks dumb when the tail just sticks out, some headgears have pointy ears for Elezens and Miqo’te. Like why not make it possible to just hide the ears and tails
Also There’s absolutely no reason to alienate a whole race from headgear, both Viera and Hrothgar. Convenience is out of the window the moment story characters have their outfits in the Mogstore.


-Running/Sprinting animation

This is solely for how awkward Elezens run and sprint. Every emote Elezens have is amazing except when they run, i know some people that literally draw their weapons out when they run/sprint, Just so they don’t get to see that weird animation. consider making it better.


-Undyeable gear

Like why? Especially EW dungeons gear They’re well designed only for them to be undyeable? The Troian set is one of the best in the game, Especially the Healing and Aiming masks. there’s no reason for any gear to be undyeable unless it needs some sort of upgrade.


-Savage gear

why do i have to prog savage raids to get the gear i want. I don’t even care about better stats, I’ll just throw it in the dresser right away just so i can dye it. And as far as i know Raiders don’t care about if it’s dyeable or not! I don’t think they mind if the normal version is dyeable or not too. I haven’t seen anyone with savage gear dyed ever unless it’s Omega set or Eden’s Verse set, nothing else .. at least from my experience in EU.
But overall it’s dumb locking dyeable versions in savage.
I can raid but i hate raiding, why bother progging for a chest that will most likely get yoinked by one of the other 7 members and have to wait a whole week to try again?
The only raid i enjoy is going to the Inn, set the orchestral roll and mess with dresser for the next 3-5 hours. And shout in FC chat to rate my glam out of 10 and see if it’s worth AFKing in Limsa or not.


-Non flashy relic weapons
I personally like the relic weapons in general but my motto is
Good designe >> Shiny
That said, why can’t we get a replica without the effects? Especially for Anima relic weapons? Till this day i regret progressing the grind knowing i had the Anima sword and shield once without the effects. Please give us a replica options without effects.

Now to the second part, some ideas that i think will extend the creativity for glamourers.

-more colour range for dyes

One of the challenges of making a glam is matching colours for different pieces from different sets. And some glams just have their own colour scheme, especially the newer gears. Not to mention that the old gears get very saturated when dyed. So yeah i suggest making a wider range of dyes.


-Dyeing different parts of the same piece of gear

Some gears have different materials attached. Metal, leather, belts, clothes and accessories etc..
Sometimes when i dye a certain piece of glam, one or two materials stand out and makes it off putting, to the point that some gears are better off not dyed! Which is disappointing…
I truly believe that if Glamourers can dye different parts of the same piece will raise the ceiling of Glamour creativity to a marvellous extent.


-Reversing Glams

I don’t know about other Glamourers, but I’m a huge fan of non-symmetric glams. Because they’re unique and interesting! The issue is these kind of glams are so hard to match with other pieces from different sets. Feels so limited to use. So this suggestion was in my mind the moment i started collecting glams


-utilising some glams

There are glams that have hoodies, masks, capes and some unique stuff attached. Like for examble “the hooded Fireglass Leather Vest” or Paladin’s Lvl 90 Artefact “Reverence Cuirass”. Wouldn’t it be so cool to be able to put the hoodies up with these pieces? Just make a toggle in character screen that makes it on and off.
And While we’re on this topic, why not also remove some clothing from some armored gear? As I mentioned the Paladin’s Reverence Cuirass, it is so well designed that it’d be awesome with or without the cape! Hell even Dark Knight’s Lvl 90 artefact “Ignominy Cuirass” looks awesome with are without the clothes attached!
Honestly props to the designers. They did a great fking job!

As for the third and last part which is about Gpose. I’d like to point out that i am a console player, in case there’s a difference or anything.
Anyway :

-Be able to perform abilities in Gpose mode

It’s annoying whenever you have to get out of Gpose because you want change the spot or pick another ability animation. The risk for not picking the right animation before hand is weather changing overtime. So make it possible to do abilities within Gpose OR save the current weather for the zone so it doesn’t go to waste and have to wait for the weather to come back (which takes a lot of time).


-Animation slider

Simply a slider to pick the right frame of the animation, repeating it over and over while pressing right trigger constantly is exhausting.


-Change glams while in Gpose


-Add story text bubbles

This isn’t my cup of tee but I’m sure a lot of people would love to make they’re own stories and get creative. Not sure about adding more stuff to this idea but currently my brain is cooked tbh.

Im adding unrestricted glam on every armor piece into this list because if FFXI is allowed to have a Warrior appear in Monk artifact armor then a much more modern game like FFXIV should have no problems with mix and matching gear pieces.


...especially when the designers deliberately use it for their numerous NPCs wearing clothes with mixed roles.

b..b..but immersion! We can have catgirls in literal stripper leggings but having a healer wear plate armor!? NAH that's immersion breaking!

This game has no excusse for having restricted glamour when the immersion is destroyed by every single person wearing a mogstation outfit.

I'm progging Savage this tier and I completely agree that making ability to dye a Savage reward instead of a standard practice is just silly. I find the entire concept of locking the ability to dye rather silly. It really should just be something we can do from the start.

You can get these. There's a node in Azy Lla in that area that sells replicas for all the previous steps. And it's available for other expansion's relics, too.

Last time I checked, I can’t get the Aettir Lux without the effects.

Nope that's true. You can get replicas of the steps but you can't get a version that didn't exist on that step at all.

Been a bit since I did them, but I think when they changed to Aettir they both had effects. One is IIRC blue and the other is the flame effect on the final version.

I want three major things in regards to glams:

- let us put dyes in the armoire or give us a dedicated storage space for them
- allow us to dye secondary colours so that a lot of great looking gear isn't ruined by a hideous secondary colour we can't change
- unlock non-artifact gear to be used on all jobs
