    Arguably, tanks have just always been in a weird spot with stats/materia, all rooted in the known flaws of fight designs. As long as "more damage is more good" meta exists (and it always will as long as tanking/healing requirements are minimal), tanks and healers are always wanting to push more damage stats, all the way back to tanks favoring STR melds over VIT to push out a little more damage (see also: Stance dancing).
    Indeed. Can't really blame the dev though, people always say tank / healing requirements are minimal but the moment they try to change that and put more strain on tanks / healers it's the end of the world (see HH in P10S, bleeds on the TB / RB...). So I don't see the "damage is king" meta going away anytime soon.

    More importantly, they won't do this shift cause all their decisions try to go in the direction of "less toxicity possible". Since DPS failures only show at enrage and are not nominative (unless ACT) but a tank / healer mess up is immediately and namely spotted, they will not multiply situations where it might happen. That's just my thoughts though, given some changes they made in the past, there is no statement / quote or insight from the devs themselves saying that.
