Steps:
1) I set up the workshops on the 8 characters on my service account identically on Wed Jul 19 2023 (season48 cycle2 of island sanctuary workshops) and then paired them up so i could check for differences over the weekly reset boundary:
Willig Rowde and La-hee Brea: +5 surplus island laver
Thousand-cast Theda and Zona Seeker: +1 surplus island laver
Kaiser Behemoth and The Garlok: 0 surplus/deficit island laver
Bone Crawler and Forgiven Pedantry: -1 deficit island laver
the process was recorded with screenshots

2) I tried to localize island laver as the 'testing item" by making sure that all other items listed under material allocation for the week were at a minimum of +10 surplus

3) on the evening of Mon Jul 24 2023 (season48 cycle7 of island sanctuary workshops) I checked the cowrie gain on 4 characters (1 from each pair): Willig Rowde, Thousand-cast Theda, Kaiser Behemoth, Bone Crawler and recorded the results with screenshots

4) on the morning of Wed Jul 26 2023 (season49 cycle2 of island sanctuary workshops) I checked the cowrie gain for all 8 characters and recorded the results with screenshots

additional thoughts:

- it would appear that doing a c7 check has an effect on cowries gained if close to 0 surplus/deficit
- continued to observe variance at +1 surplus without a c7 check and 0 surplus/deficit seen on previous weeks when there really shouldn’t be any variance
- having an “adequate surplus” seems to ignore both issues

- rip alts
- no c7 check seems to have larger impact than 0 surplus/deficit
- rip ppl with busy schedules on c7 evenings
