I have been playing the free trial on my M1 MacBook for almost 2 months, and today, I upgraded from the free trial, buying from the SqEnix website/MogStation. Upon completing payment, I was taken to a download page. I reinstalled the app, as prompted, and now after logging in, the launcher attempts "Checking Final Fantasy XIV" for about half a second and then the launcher crashes.

I have followed all the directions on the support page... updating my version of MacOS, safe boot, no antivirus software, uninstall/reinstall... none of this has any affect.

Operating system: MacOS Ventura 13.4.1
Launcher version 2023.04.28.0000.0001(8849901)
