your problem is the spelling of the item it should be

/equip ears "Militia Earrings"
your missing the s at the end of earring

even though there is only one slot they still equip on both ears making the item into a multi item therefore its plural just put the s at the end

You could try relogging. I've had issues with the item cache for text commands not updating with new items I obtain or pull out of storage. Relogging usually fixes it.

Actually I have been getting blue screens of death recently only while playing, something about data crash and dump, maybe related?

blue screen of death if your using a ssd drive is due to a firmware issue will have nothing to do with the game mechanics

It's so infuriating that I can't use these macros. Maybe I do just need to relog, will try when servers go back up.
