Except he's not wrong about when considering he just returned Sunday from his 2 week vacation.
There is a bug. This is not the first time players have found their houses pending demolition despite more recent entry, or even having the house demolished.
Just because it hasn't affected you does not mean it does not exist. Before the first time i witnessed it happening to a friend a couple of years ago, I too was a doubter. I learned otherwise. Stormpeaks was a doubter during the last time the bug conversation came up as well and yet now it has happened to them.
Instead of dismissing it as PEBKAC, it's time for players to start collecting and submitting information so SE can investigate. Remember how for years a connection issue was being dismissed as problem on the player ends until enough players gathered and submitted information for SE to determine it was a problem on their end? The same needs to be done for this. The housing system is already enough of a mess.
Yet the demolition notice the OP got may have been due to the bug. We don't know the exact date the party was held but for the notice to be emailed, the game would have to think the OP had not been in their house since about June 19th (depends on the date of the email).
I know the OP has a history of making meritless complaints but part of this one rings true with problems that other players have also experienced.

The problem with it being a bug is there are 10s of thousands of houses in XIV. And we here about this bug from maybe 20 people. If people were truly affected by it, we'd see much, much, much higher numbers than a couple dozen.
The OP said they were in their house last month with a party. They just said they have an active account, not that they are actively using the house.
The timer starts immediately, but you don't see it pop up until 14 or 15 days are left on it. It's always ticking away.
How many players only enter their house once a month at most?
More likely they've entered their houses again since with that subsequent entry correctly being registered in the system and resetting their demolition timer so they never get the message. Those who haven't, such as my friend because of their vacation, are likely few and so such stories aren't heard often especially when most players don't visit the game forums at all.
We also can't say what causes the bug to happen. Could it be entering at a certain time of day or while the servers are doing some sort of background update?
Better safe than sorry. These occurrences should be reported as a bug with as much information as the player is able to provide. We should stop chalking it up to "player has a bad memory" and let an actual issue remain a problem.
I wouldn't worry about it, mate.
I point out issues with the game and get called a liar all the time on here, incidentally, by the same people that are calling you out here.
All my situations I have posted about are accurate, but meh.
