once i queue for level 90 roulette and when i enter i type o/, One second later a player said: Hope all lalas die... i remember the name because is an anime name. Solution? /block move on.2 days ago I queued for The Dusk Vigil (with my alt character, as a DPS). After completing the duty, just after I posted a "thank you" in the party chat and did a player commendation, half a second before I clicked "Exit", one of them obviously felt the need of typing this in the party chat: "UR CHARACTER IS HIDEOUS" (yes, in caps). I don't know if he meant me (my alt is a female Roegadyn) or if he meant someone else in the party. It doesn't even matter if I was the target of this. No one should be the target of insults, be it about race or outfit of their character.
I'm not trying to be "snow-flaky", but is this what FFXIV has become? I didn't see this kind of rudeness before in this game. Where did this behaviour come from?
After I had clicked Exit and realized how rude that player's text in the party chat was, I wasn't sure if I should report him. Should I have? Should I report next time such a thing happens?
And you don't think at all that behavior like that is asinine, should be called out and reported? Just ignore it, block and move on. You don't think that emboldens people to behave worse?
wot is wrong to have hideous character.
For me it looks like a joke, I met many people who were like "eating Lalafells!" or "popotos!" and I've never thought anyone would see it as an insult. In this case we don't even know if the person wrote it towards op, they said the guy was in a party with someone else so there's a chance it was addressed to another player. Or they just wrote it in a wrong chat. I remember playing with my friend in the past and we were joking like this all the time. Just imagine being punished for having fun or writing your message in a wrong chat.
And even if they really wanted to offend op's character, they probably won't learn much from being punished. People do this kind of thing for attention and when they don't get it at all, they get bored and stop doing it. If you try to educate people by punishments, they just will try to camouflage their insults better next time and think about the community as a bunch of snowflakes.
In my opinion it's really the same level as being told "Your drawing is ugly!" by a kid in elementary school. You can spend all your life with "I will tell your mom!" attitude but believe me, without growing a thicker skin you'll make your life miserable. It would be different if they used chat to offend you as a player and wrote something like "Your character is hideous, people who play Femroes are cringe and they should die" but if you even don't know if the insult bas been addressed towards you, it means you're just a snowflake who prefers to feel offended "just in case". There is no power to make everyone in the world to like and respect you and be like "You can say only say nice things about my character in online game or you'll regret it!". If you share anything online you should be ready that there will be people who won't like it and say it loud. It isn't nice, especially if you don't ask about their opinion, but it's ridiculous to expect people to share only positive thoughts. I play a Viera and I sometimes hear something like "Boo Vieras are generic!" and I've never thought about reporting anyone. They have every right to think this way. I really have a feeling some people just got offended too easily.

I once reported someone who called me a puta and the GMs did something about it, so I'd say yes, you should! Certain behaviors shouldn't be entertained nor tolerated.
Live by the Sun, love by the Moon~
i know the guy is a d1ck coz i met him before in other content and he is always causing drama or trolling in chat. i didn't get offended by the lala thing. There are idiots everywhere the best and healthier thing someone can do is don't give them what they want. ignore them.
I entirely agree with your post. But I'd like to add:
Some or most MSQ dungeons might be available with duty support (NPCs), but not raids and trials. And not the dungeons you need to unlock flying. Additionally, if you really like to explore one of these dungeons, reading documents you find, watching what the designers put in there besides the main path, without someone hurrying to the next boss, you need to find 3 friends or FC members to join. Or you wait until you're 10+ levels > dungeon and try it solo.
