Actually if you look at them. They got that part right. The flubbed areas are actually around where the Miqo ears are that the styling doesn't really flow properly around them.

I'm curious if the templates being Hyur is why so many hairstyles look malformed when they have to contend with au ra horns or hrothgar skulls.
Like, if this is the template they start from in their design process, no wonder we got things like the lyse hair looking great on female middies but looking skewed on female au ra.

What a bizarre decision. In either case I hope someone with artistic talent submits some long hairs and cute ponytails anyway. I definitely will enter but I feel like mine will look like crap especially since it's limited to this bizarre template.

EXACTLY my thought too! I feel like all the hairs they add look wierd on Au ra. :/ i wish they had a template for each race or something. I need a hair that doesnt make my au ra look like a wide flat egghead

While I can't be certain, I'd like to think the Type A and Type B labels aren't about "gender" per se, but about the styles. My guess is, unlike the last contest, these hairstyles will be unisex. But then again, a good portion of the runners up were made unisex too, so what do I know. People will get butt hurt over anything nowadays.

Then why have any "type" at all? Just put a generic, featureless head up and let people overlay whatever they need to add for the hairstyle to make sense, rather than include the upper chests from each body (decidedly male and female body, respectively).
Pretty sure they just didn't want to offend people who get offended by specific gender labels.
