Gathering Bonus?

Websites like Teamcraft and Icy Veins state the gathering bonus as:

[+1 Yield Node Bonus] : 3900 Gathering

What does that mean? For example, if I am farming Annite or Raw Star Quartz what difference does it make if I upgrade from current 3715 to 3900?

You only get the bonus if you meed the stated conditions. If you have at least 3900 gathering you get +1 yield for that node. If you don't meet the requirements (as in this example where 3715, is less that 3900) you don't lose anything, you just don't get the bonus.

Just to add that you can use food to help meet the node bonus stat requirements. HQ Jhinga Curry will give you up to 136 additional Gathering so while it's not quite enough if you're currently at 3715, it would be if you can get to 3764.

Also, the bonuses can go higher. What you see listed is only the first level of bonus. I never did figure out the exact number for +2 yield but I suspect it's around 4000 Gathering. To get +3 yield, 4100 Gathering is needed.

For nodes with +gathering attempt, it is 900 GP for +1 attempt and 950 GP for +2 attempts.

It will require pentamelded HQ Indagators to reach the higher bonuses, which most players won't find worth it.

you can see what bonuses the nodes have when you select them. in each grouping there's always one that node that has integrity plus 1, one that has yield+1, and another with some sort of boon bonus. Randomly you can get other bonuses, perhaps a +2 or even +3 if you're lucky.

Thank-you. I love getting those yield+1 nodes. Does your reply mean only those nodes now become yield+2 if I hit the breakpoint? If true I do not intent to upgrade. That is kind of meager reward for what amounts to millions of gil in materia as I have to upgrade from Pactmaker's to Indagator's.

getting a bonus condition has nothing to do with hitting breakpoints. it's purely RNG.

Exactly.

For the most part the bonuses do exactly what they say. +1 yield gives you one extra item per gather attempt. +1 gathering attempt give you 5 swings at a node instead of the usual 4, etc.

And the bonuses stack with other buffs. If a node has a bonus of +1 yield and you use King's Yield you'll get 3 items instead of 2.
