"The majority of the playerbase".....
Good job this is a troll thread otherwise that statement would be even MORE laughable.
Honestly I don’t see why the OP is wrong about what’s coming for future.
Maybe their way to express their thought can be seen too rough for certain people but c’mon let’s face the true.
It’s true that the game has been tuned down over and over again and it’s true that the studio has no plan to make the game come as it was before nor to improve certain feature.
So now the expectations are low, on what the game will offer.
Personally I think the majour feature we can hope (with a good ammount of copium, indeed) is having a new MSQ decent at least within its narration.
Gameplay wise, we can expect more tuning down in the next expacs.
CBU3 has started this back to SB/ShB and there is no way they will come back to their previous path.
Content wise same thing.
I’m playing the whole game again and I’m seeing how the old content where more engaging, if I can use this word than what we had since four years, at least.
I’m not here to doomposting. I just have the rare ability to see what’s coming on by actually evaluating and comparing things. I think it’s called critical judgment, a thing that all ppl should develop during their lives but you know…think is a busy work, i discourage ppl to think. Ignorance is a bless.
Any road. The ones that constantly repeat like it was a gospel “if you don’t like, just quit”, “I love the game it sound more like a you problems”, “the game is going to go better” are as ignorant as the ones who keeps trolling and doomposting.
Maybe there is only one true behind these words.
7.0 may be one of the best expansion, retailing wise, but there is an huge difference between having a good product that sells and a good game.
The formula of FFXIV is having a boom of new player that pays for a year maybe, every year. Fuck the veterans they will quit eventually.
To the new players and to whoever hasn’t reach the breakpoint yet, enjoy your time here. To the sheeps…well I’ve no words for them.
Holy lmoa, you might be the only one this salty about the update... I don't think that's the case at all. I'm pretty sure everyone I know started playing the game again hahahaa.
"We're going to see the same thing in 7.0, because the developers aren't going to change things as we desire/demand" is indeed a correct prediction. I really don't know why people complain when the game "works in similar ways" from 2.0 through 7.0.
If you want a different game, go seek it. There are any number of new games out there every year. Some make a big splash and then sink to the bottom, never to be seen again. Others stick around for decades. Ultima Online still has servers, after a quarter of a century, and they haven't reinvented the game.
Adding the "personally" to this was a wise move. There are players who absolutely hated the Endwalker MSQ, players who were "meh, no different from past expansions", and players who were invested in the storyline. Personally, I thought the Ala Mhigo sections of Stormblood were a bit underwhelming. Personally, I'm ecstatic that there was no huge "Garlean" anything this expansion.... having a new MSQ decent at least within its narration.
It's odd how different people have different tastes in literature and music... and games. Almost as though individuals have their own criteria for what is "good" and "bad". In my opinion, the day all individuals have the same tastes and preferences is the day the "human race" as a whole dies.I just have the rare ability to see what’s coming on by actually evaluating and comparing things.
Yes, you did ... you compared players who disagree with your own ramblings with sheep. It's the easiest cheap shot one can take to deter disagreement. To the sheeps…well I’ve no words for them.
Is it still copium if I enjoyed Endwalker?![]()
I remember that when the Good King Moogle Mog fight was released in 2.1, I made a comment about the one Moogle named Puki was it’s Tagalog for the word “p_ssy.” Koji Fox replied to the thread and said he didn’t know that the name could mean that in another language, and he was sorry for naming the Moogle that. Plus he said going forward that he’d be very careful naming NPCs so that they aren’t terms from another Latham could mean something inappropriate.People are gonna shit on this response, but to be fair when was the last time any staff member even implied they were looking at this place outside of the one mod in the tech support forum who mostly helps with troubleshooting and moving threads around? Nothing against him, but I'm talking about a reply from like... a developer or something. For example, there's this super old thread asking for unlocked hempen sets across races, and in that thread an actual staff account replied saying they'd look into it. That is the most recent thread I can immediately think of where I saw a reply from someone who might actually work on the game. It was made back in like 2015. And as we all know, the hempen sets are still race-locked.
Like, if we had any developer come in and even say "sup" in a thread, we'd at least know that someone at CBU3 was reading our feedback and I think that would go a mile for the morale around here. As it stands, this place feels more like a venty echo chamber where people just scream into the wind, feeling with 99.9% certainty that nobody's listening and nobody cares.
It sounds less like a new engine and more like they are adding a better texture pack and lighting features. This will not be an entirely new look to the game, just kind of polishing up the look we already have, you aren't suddenly going to be able to count the pores on an NPCs face or anything.
Yes, as you say, they have already been very clear on this, it's new technologies for lighting, shadows/antialiasing and certainly dx12,It sounds less like a new engine and more like they are adding a better texture pack and lighting features. put more details/item in instances/map.
But it's not a graphics engine change, just an update so that they can technologically keep up with the next 10 years, and yes yoshida has already said that the graphics update will be in the form of a texture pack that can be activated on pc/ps5 since the ps4 will not have the option.
Moreover the graphic update will not be complete in 7.0, it will continue on the 7.x-8.x patches because the work is much too important to release everything at once, so it will be released in several parts.
