Modification to party finder and one other thing

Now as title suggests. Modification to pf.

It's a huge issue that the other category is overran with venue ads and I'm not talking one or two. Most places think 3-8 is good to have up.

I propose a system built in that the Venue Owner must use to not only register their venue. Must register if it's sfw or nsfw.

Register all variants of their venue name (including short form).

List two dedicated staff that will put up ads on pf. It is up to the venue owner to modify who these particular people are. This can only be changed once a week.

They will then need to list days their venue is open. This is important because then it gives a 24 hour window of which to have their venue ad up in. System can also be modified for those late night ones. So their 24 hour might start say 9pm pst-9pm pst next day.

Then a warning box pops up saying that any other venue ads will be deleted automatically.

So the reason to ask for venue name and all variants is to detect trolls or people wanting to ruin a venues image.

In order for this to work. The programmers will also have to get into the community or on sites like ffxiv venues and find out who owners are in case you got someone claiming to be owner.

Now, the other thing I think needs to happen.

Modification to what you can do on other data centers. I am on aether and since last raid tier, we have had every other DC come to us and raid pfs and Blu pfs are just wild. Goto crystal or primal and you barely see a thing.

Now I know dynamis is a bit of a sore spot because of how dead it is. Maybe let them still come queue for dailies.

However the rest, modify so people have to be on their own server to raid savages, ultimates and even gather Blu spells. Let's get the servers back on their own DC doing stuff with their own people.

Now as I know these forums are full of trolls just looking to argue and maybe a few people with actual coherent thoughts. I won't be responding. I just know this is the place to post ideas. Wonder how long till this is quickly buried

A possible solution to the venue thing would be to make a new type of 'party finder' called the Venue Finder or something (someone else can think of a better name), and you can only put up advertisements for your own houses. (Any house that you are considered an owner of, and giving advertisement permissions to tenats/FC members would be a new option) Then just have settings for the details like the name, days/times, etc. This could very easily be something completely separate from the party finder, and probably should be.

As much as I find DC travel to be a detriment to the raiding scene (people coming from Crystal/Primal tend to be worse at raiding in my experience), this defeats the entire purpose of DC travel. Not a good idea. There are probably other better solutions to encourage people to do stuff on their home DC.

Point #1: Yes, venues need their own ad space off the main page. PF should be kept for actual combat content and an RP Finder should be made for venues, parties, whatever. Or at least re-organize the PF we have now so combat content is shown all in the first few pages and then RP ads are at the end. Preferably they should get their own Finder though.

Point #2: Agree and disagree. Instead of leaving out Dynamis, just give them the same treatment. The majority of Dyna's population is going to other servers for content and they have since Day 1. A vast amount of the population simply moved over for a free house with the intention of still doing content on other servers. If we limit Dyna to only doing content on Dyna, it should help fix the issues we've been having.

I can see negatives to doing this like losing access to cross-DC hunts and activities like DRS (since the majority that I know of get hosted on Aether) but ultimately if it helps fix things then it's a sacrifice that I'd be personally willing to make.

Split it out the event finder or venue finder, and then only allow 1 advertisement per venue - If people are advertising 1 venue 3-8 times then IMO that falls under spam regardless of how you look at it.

I actually just sent an email to support asking for clarification on whether or not this is spam. According to their ToS, it has to be obstructing the gameplay of other people but I can see it doing that if there are pages and pages of multiple venue advertisements that make it harder for people to scroll easily and find what they're looking for. So ultimately I think it could go either way and depends on their definition of obstruction.

Fellowships WAS supposed to be the event finder but failed and was never updated again. The problem with creating a new space is that it doesn't prevent people from continuing to use the old. Advertisers will be wherever the most visibility is at.

I would suggest something simpler to cut done on the venue spam.

Create a new section in PF that is venue specific (or even a new Venue Finder). Add in required fields for World, Housing District, Ward and Plot along with a text field for Venue name. Add in toggle options for the popular types of venue activities that are allowed within the game's ToS along with a generic "other" toggle (SE can always add additional toggles based on community feedback similar to how they've added more housing tags over time). Add in fields for day open, open time and close time. Do not add a general description field.

If someone attempts to list a house location that's already listed in PF for that data center, an error message gets generated so there is no duplicate listing.

Sorry, but no. The main purpose of data center travel is so friends can play with friends on other data centers and that's going to include such content.

What SE needs to do is incentivize players to remain on their home data centers so they are better off playing there instead of going offworld. Friends trying to play with friends are going to prioritize those friends over any other benefit. Those just trying to get a random party won't unless they simply can't get such party to form on their home data center.

Dynamis would be fine now for most content if Dynamis players would simply stay on Dynamis. The level cap population is much larger now than it was at Dynamis' launch. There are over 20,000 level cap characters on Dynamis worlds and that number has continued to grow.

Instead people started doing the "Dynamis is dead" and so that's exactly what happened to the data center because not enough players would stay to make it otherwise.

Great feedback. I don't think I would include dynamis in not being able to make pfs and do content on other dcs but to be fair. They making their own DC dead by going to another DC to do content.

As for a way to entice ppl to do content on their own DC. No real way too. I think eliminate the ability to join or make parties for savages, ultimates on other dcs is the honest answer as that's what the main force flock to aether for.

Past that not really worried.
