Game crashes when alt-tabbed. No error message.

Ever since patch 6.45 happened, every time that I alt-tab out of the game it crashes with no error message. It's almost like the game itself hits "exit game" without my permission. I thought this was due to the game running in fullscreen, but after changing to borderless window the problem persists.

This was NOT happening before the patch was released.

Steps I've taken:
Resetting computer.
Turning off computer overnight
Updating GPU drivers
Disabling background programs
Restoring game data
Reinstalling the game

None of this has worked.

Platform: Windows 11

I only have one character: Staribbon Xu

It occurs in town when the game is minimized or alt-tabbed.

Background Progs: Norton AV, Discord, Firefox sometimes. (I often work with or join in with FFXIV streamers.) Shutting these off did not help.

50c when working, I understand this is well within normal operating perimeters.

I have not made any upgrades to this computer recently.

Am very sorry to hear about the issue you've been experiencing. This could possibly be caused by corrupted files or some other form of conflict with drivers.

I'd like to suggest trying some of the following troubleshooting steps:
- Try switching to DirectX 9 by selecting the ‘Config’ button on the launcher.
- Please be sure to disable or remove any overlays (Discord, Steam, NVIDIA etc.) as they may interfere with startup.
- Make sure that the Windows OS is fully updated. (Based on the information we do see it indicates Windows 10 Home 64-bit (6.2, Build 9200) (19041.vb_release.191206-1406), please be sure to also install any optional updates)
- Delete or move locally saved files folder to another location outside of the "My Games" folder. This can be found by going to 'My Documents' > 'My Games' folder > Final Fantasy XIV Online. (Be sure to back up all of your settings in-game as this folder contains locally saved files for macros, settings and screenshots)
- Perform a clean boot by opening the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Then be sure to disable everything.
- Update and reinstall the drivers for your graphics card. Although this may not be necessary, it can still sometimes help. (As you did already indicate you had updated the GPU's we would suggest a clean re-install)

Nothing you suggested fixed the problem. I believe the problem is with the patch.
