Is there a place on the forums to leave Feedback and/or Suggestions for the devs?

I'm fairly new to the forums and trying to find my way around. I saw that there is a place to report bugs, as well as a place to provide feedback for the forums themselves, but from what I can tell there isn't a forum dedicated to player feedback or suggestions on the actual FFXIV game. Is there a place to leave feedback that - even if not implemented - makes it to someone on the team? Or are these forums just for players to talk amongst themselves? I've seen different forums handle these kind of things differently, so my thanks to anyone who can get me up to speed!

Originally the community team did review all of the feedback on the forums and allegedly pass it along to the devs in Japan. They even posted here semi regularly to confirm their existence, sometimes responding to feedback directly with quotes they obtained from the devs. That hasn't really happened on the English forums now for several years. They either stopped looking here or just stopped acknowledging us.

2ch > JP forums > homeless guys on a street > EN forums.

Yes, for the most part, we're screaming into a void here. They supposedly had some EN representatives who were making weekly summaries and handing them to devs, but I doubt this is still a case.

It's rumoured that the community representatives who did engage with us here have since left the company altogether and ventured elsewhere. I know at least one now works for Bethesda instead, for whatever that may be worth.

The... entire forums. Notice it is divided into categories?

• Classes & Jobs: List of classes and jobs.
• Gameplay: Quests, Dungeons, FATE, PvP, Exploratory Missions (such as Eureka and Bozja, Hunts, Companies, Housing, Gold Saucer, Items/Synthesis/Crafting, Markets and Retainers, User Interface.
• Community: List of worlds, and a general forum for things that don't fit elsewhere

These are, literally, feedback forums for the game.

Put yourself in a developer's shoes. If you wanted to look for feedback on the user interface, where would you look? The User Interface forum. Or use the Search feature.

Remember the developers are Japanese. Most of them will need the information translating. I recall they took the 10 most popular topics and had them translated each week, but this was a long time ago. To achieve this, we have to "talk amongst ourselves" lots.

The community team also gather feedback for the developers, and although they may read the forums to achieve this, we can make certain judgements based on how certain feedback doesn't reach the developers until it affects JP players, the lack of acknowledgement of an issue by Yoshi-P in interviews and based on the lack of (even light) forum moderation.

Rarely, the localization developers, who can speak English, discuss in the localization forum about grammar and translation but it's rare. GMs have also posted in there (when people were making off-topic posts about GMs). It's one of the only forums they seem to be allowed to talk in casually.

If you report a bug, they do sometimes contact you about it, either for further information or to thank you for identifying a bug.

probably best in the sub forums the feedback belongs to. Though if you can read and write Japanese there is always the JP forums as well.

I don't recall the devs ever really posting in GD, personally. The subforums, yeah. Fernhalwes was in the Lore Forum occasionally, for instance. If you have feedback or suggestions, posting them in their appropriate subforum has the most chance of getting seen. The general discussion forum is basically just, well, general.
