With respect, if someone asks you why you haven't responded when you've clearly set your status to Busy, that person isn't respecting a boundary you've set. If there's any confusion on their end, a one-time conversation that amounts to "sometimes I don't have energy for other people and need space to myself" should clear things up. And that's a conversation you can have with them later, when you're up for socializing.

It would be nice if an Invisible/Offline option was added, but until that happens I would recommend making space for yourself to be alone in the game. Make one of your chat tabs not include linkshells, FC, whispers/tells, etc, so that you can't even see interactions from others, and then when you set yourself to Busy switch to that chat tab. In your settings turn off the audio alerts from whispers/tells. Then you can carry on with your stuff without being disturbed by others.

An important part of having healthy and positive relationships with others is being able to set boundaries and have those boundaries be respected. If your friends can't respect your boundaries, in that moment they're not being good friends. You deserve space, and you don't need an excuse to take it. The friends that are worth keeping around will understand and respect that.
