Once again here posting as to why blue's story line is gated behind doing a boss in Carnival. All other classes and jobs do not have such silliness and considering it is a limited job as well why do that, all you do Square is upset people who just want to see the story and don't even get me started on the difficulty of some of the things in carnival for older and/or disabled people to get thru. Why not have an easy mode option to allow people who also pay subs to see a storyline that they pay for.

Limited jobs are different. Other jobs sometimes have restrictions of learning an ability by doing a quest. Many of those capstone quests (such as at 50) usually require doing an instance. Of course, the difficulty of those instances are laughable. In the case of BLU, they sort of "force" players down a path. I forgot which boss it was, but there was one of the required Masked Carnivale challenges that required Loom (aside from Golden Opportunity). I don't think there is another way to beat that boss with Loom. Therefore, in many cases we have to obtain certain spells in order to succeed. In my opinion, that makes some sense. You can't bring the job to certain content, so there wouldn't be much to it if the level 70 job quest was simplistic such as the other capstone quests for the other unrestricted jobs.

I feel the same way. I don't think the BLU storyline should have been tied in with Mask Carnival. MC has its rewards as well as the Blue Log. The storyline should have stayed separate from MC. I didn't do all the levels in the masked carnival. Haven't played it since that one level, DIRTY ROTTEN whatever the name was. Took me 29 times before I beat the boss, after that, I was so frustrated I stop doing MC & that was a couple of years ago. I really don't have any desire to do MC & if I want to proceed through the story I have to face Seigfreid which I don't plan on doing anytime soon.

The MC fights are just puzzles, and not particularly hard ones. X happens, try again with Y spell to counter X. Repeat until you clear.

If you can't do that, you can either get good or quit.

While it is quite doable as someone who has full use of the upper body and decent reaction time it does require a fair amount of dexterity many of us take for granted. I think there should be an easy mode that grants no rewards for those who just want to experience the story.

The blue fights have a similar difficulty to normal trials which everyone goes through the MSQ anyway. I really hope you give it a chance and do it for the story.

The big difference of the hard stages (and what makes it harder than normal trials) is that failing to a mechanic often equals death.

Just learn the fight. Honestly I find it better than trying to learn a trial or raid fight because I just have to be responsible for me.

The normal trials have 7 other players in the group. It's easy for friends to help other friends get through them as needed so they can continue MSQ.

Masked Carnival is solo. The only way to get any needed help is to account share, which is against ToS. That creates a hard roadblock.

The issue isn't getting good neither is it quitting. I always felt like the OP is stating that the MC should have never been tied in with the BLU Mage's storyline. MC is content & is the solo counterpart to the Blu Log which is content for Blu Mage parties. After 29 attempts & finally beat the level 25 act...DIRTY ROTTEN ?? which had to be done to progress through the story. All that did was made me frustrated & basically, stop MC.
MC & the Blu Log are good if you want achievements, rewards, allied seals, mounts, & glowy BLU weapons with higher stats but they should not be tied to the storyline.
