Male caster/healer glamour

Am I the only person sick and tired of caster/healer gear design? 90% of caster and healer gear is either a dress with no “masculine” design or a robe that covers the entire body.

Meanwhile, tanks have gotten quite a few “cloth” looking sets.

This is just my opinion, but all sets look good on females, but not all sets look good on males.

Glamour options feel extremely limited as a male caster.

I wish we’d either get more variety or they’d start making “male” versions of the dress looking sets.

I do like this, tribal shaman feel, but you are right.

90% of outfits are made to look like femboys, because that's what the fanbase of the game likes.

My armor set I use for casters ( if I'm not going in topless ) is the set I got from pretty early in Shadowbringers. I'm sure someone will give you the name before I do but I'll be back to update if no one has.

That's the Crystarium set you're thinking of Renalt, and yes, it's armour that is classless (unrelated to the lower tier ShB tome gear sets with the Crystarium name).

Another classless heavy armour option for mages is the Legacy Warrior's gear originally available as part of a reward from a past Rising event, but are available for purchase on the Mogstation (that set resembles the armour worn by the Fighter Job in FFI), so there is some options for "non robe mage wear", you just have to look a bit harder.

As an enjoyer of femboys, I genuinely despise just how little variety caster/healer armor sets have. It's actually one of the reasons why I advocate for unlocking role based glamours, if only so my choice in glams isn't totally limited to casual glam #34 vs generic frilly robe.

I don’t mind variety, and I’m not expecting an extremely masculine set every single patch, but I feel like as male a caster, I have very few options.

Either I play the fem boy, or I have a couple of options.

Female tanks (which I would equate to the opposite as tanks are probably the most “masculine” role) have many options to choose from.

This expansion has been slightly better, but the 18 man raid has been hoooorrrible in this regard. Very surprised they didn’t make male versions of these sets.

Even though a robe is one of the main parts of its design, I'm a big fan of the Deepshadow chestpiece. It's the most armored healer equipment that I can think of, and it even has those metallic "clink" sfx when you walk around. I threw it on my WHM the instant I discovered it existed

The rest of the set might not be your cup of tea, though (it even has some random-ass high heels thrown in for some reason)

Agreed, I love the knight/war cleric approach that set had, and I'm utterly disappointed the recolor dungeon version isn't dyable. Sigmascape, Deepshadow, and just recently Lunar Envoy are the only healing sets I use - yes, they might be robes, but at least I can see my legs, otherwise I just stick to lv 1 jobless glamours.

I actually like the current tome design quite a lot, as opposed to the usual white dress we got from the raid tier.

But still, it's really hard to enjoy your newly obtained healer armour upgrade when it's just generic flowy white dress #269

I do enjoy dressing my purple noodle in pretty robes, what I'm tired of is that 90% of them are potato sacks on male characters.
