For the most part, many of the goals here were tertiary, since I enjoy achievement hunting, regardless of that medium - Whether it's in an MMO, or whether it's on PSN with trophies, or achievements on Xbox/Steam - Even with people who do this fairly casually, you'd be surprised what forms of monotony and tyranny people subject themselves to for that dopamine hit of seeing the achievement pop up on the screen. Like, I'm farming all of the relics just for this purpose, since my primary weapon glamour is Padjali, and will be Kinna when I get around to that. I would say this enjoyment outweighs what I got when I decided to try raiding in Eden's Verse that one time.

Crafters and Gatherers are a shell of their former selves, I will say. In fact, one of the major selling points of this game to me, aside from hearing T13 music (by accidental misclick) those many, many years ago, the crafting system was also pretty high since it was one of the few that could boast of having a fairly substantive system behind.

I do have issues with BLU, and probably more so than most people, but I don't let that stop me in its entirety from having what fun I can with it.

At any rate, I don't entirely disagree, but people play this with different goals in mind, so some will get more out of this than others. I usually refrain, but there is a certain point where you do need to question whether the game has your interests in mind or not, and whether there is actually a trend to show whether it is or isn't, and whether or not it is rebounding.

Yoshi himself encourages players to take breaks between patches.
Maybe pick up a new game, 16 was just released.

Burn out is natural. Don't force yourself if you're not having fun anymore. 14 doesn't want you to be around all the time. They said so themselves.

A burn out would imply i'm tired of the things i'm doing but there's nothing to do in the first place. I WANT to do stuff but there's nothing of substance.

Triad, ex, savage, ultimate, lving alts, grand company, island, mahjong titles, saucer, gathering, crafting, V&C, tribes, custom deliveries, fetes, diadem, eureka, bozja, hunt, deep dungeons, sightseeing log, fishing log, shared fates, pvp, rare glams, rare minions, rare mounts...nothing of substance.

Back in my days we spent hours just to reach a higher score on flipper doing the same stuff over and over again while we avoided premature death.

Our dopamine receptors are fried, there is plenty of stuff to do.

A cool shiny sword but nothing to use it on, that i bought with an already capped currency. (Not that it's worth using as the tome weapon is better anyways) And a new dungeon that i completed in 10 minutes. That's the patch.

This game is lacking in character progression and meaningful content besides savage and weekly tomes. There's just so little of substance to do on the side besides social interactions - which i don't think warrants a monthly subscription as i can do this for free on other platforms. I *want* to have stuff to dig my teeth into - a reason to log back in for inbetween raid nights. But there's just nothing to do. Frankly, i'm starting to consider going back to WoW..
Then play go play WoW? You can play more than one game you know. I quite like the fact this game isn't demanding me to log in every single day and overwhelming me with content because it allows me to *gasp* PLAY OTHER GAMES.

This is kinda how .x5 patches are to my memory, more of the relaxing fluffy stuff. The only real reason I can see this being more pronounced than usual is because of how gutted the relic questline has been.

If nothing appeals to you then ultimately it's probably in your best interest to focus on other things/games/life responsibilities until 6.5 when we get the new alliance raid, trial, msq, etc. This patch just isn't for your taste and there's nothing wrong with that.

There is a lot of content to do even if it's not content you are interested in. SE can't meet every players' personal desires when it comes to content type and quantity. "Content of substance" is something that is subjective, which can make it even harder for them to try to meet a specific player's interests.

As others have said, if you've done everything you're interested in then it's a good time to play other games whether it's WoW, some other MMORPG or a game in an entirely different genre. You can always resub to play this game when there's enough new content you're interested in to make it worth the fee.

This argument always goes the same way.

    "This game has no content!"

"What about [long list of content]?"

"I don't like that so it doesn't count!"

Choosing not to do the content available is not the same thing as there being no content. You're basically whining that the game isn't designed specifically for you.
