Excluding Cross Hotbars from R1/RB rotation

It would be very nice, if under the Hotbar Settings > Cross tab there was a list of check boxes for all 8 cross hotbars that we could manually select for the R1/RB hotbar rotation.

This would allow situational hotbars to be created and essentially stay hidden and jumped over unless selected manually with R1+DPAD/FACE buttons. Simply by going into the Hotbars settings menu we could add another already full bar to the rotation for raids or whatever. Change from 1+2 default to 1-4 or 3+4 etc. 5+8, whatever.

It would also stop newly learned abilities from generating new hotbars and annoyingly being thrown into the hotbar rotation if those new bars remained unselected in the menu.

Of course all 8 would be selected by default and empty bars should still be jumped over regardless, as they are now.

Tangentially, the R1+R2 combo functioning as a Tab through targets is SUPER ANNOYING and I want to be able to disable that. It's completely redundant.

Hey, if I'm reading it right with what you're asking, I think this feature has always existed. I think this is the settings you're looking for: https://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/uigui...switching.html

When you enable customization, you can shut off the (Cross) "Hotbar" by deselecting them. Thought I think this setting should have been under Cross Horbar settings instead of Custom.

There's 2 ways to cycle, either when the weapon is sheathed or pulled out. If you disable 2 through 4 a keep the rest active while weapon is sheathed, then rotating through tapping R1/RB would cycle through 1, 5, 6, 7 and 8.

If you uncheck 5 through 9 for unsheathed, then R1/RB will cycle only through 1 through 4, which would probably have all combat focussed actions.

    I hope this helped.

Another thing you can do is change the Sharing settings on bars that you want to skip/unskip.

    /chotbar share 5 on
Enables sharing for cross hotbar 5

    /chotbar share 7 off
Disables sharing for cross hotbar 7

    /chotbar share 3
Toggles the Sharing setting for cross hotbar 3

If you are not using the opposite bars for anything, this will toggle between empty and non-empty bars. If you're using the opposite bars for storing hidden menu bars or secondary arrangements of combat bars, this won't help you.

Assuming you have the weapon sheathed and weapon drawn set up exactly the same way, you're right. That functions essentially in the manner I'm describing.

But you have to change both sets every time. Why the redundancy?! Who actually wants different hotbars based on whether their weapon is out? Obviously someone but it's not me.

I suppose to clarify/simplify, you could say I'm asking for that separation between sheathed/drawn to be removed.. but I assume someone wants and uses that feature and I'm not here to advocate for the removal of anything. I just a single set of those 8 checkboxes to act in a global manner, regardless of stipulations like whether my weapon is drawn.

Having different settings for whether your weapon is drawn or sheathed is beneficial in multiple ways and is something people should take advantage of.

For example, you do not need access to transportation, minions, emotes other than /comfort, and job changes when you are in combat, so there is no reason bars that contain those actions should be available when your weapon is drawn--and if you need to keep those bars available because they have in-combat actions on them, you should probably rearrange your bars so that things that you don't need in combat aren't on your combat bars.
