This is just not true. Most people on the forums who loudly announce they'll quit actually eventually quit. Aveyond quit, Daniolaut quit, etc.
People only think this because there are always people talking about quitting but it's different people each time.
usually - Implying not always the case. There are people that have quit and they have done so after months of announcing it, in the particular case of Aveyond I'm fairly certain he must've announced it a good half-dozen times. It's always difficult in this case, and won't really know until 6.5 anyway once the new story is out as to whether they have actually quit.
As far as I am concerned people whom announce it, then vanish until the next story patch to repeat the same haven't really quit, though you are welcome to disagree with this sentiment.
Did Daniolaut actually announce that he was/has quit? Or did he just silently do so? I recall the name but was on an extended break at this time.
At any rate, again, the point is that it is usually the case. Whilst there are people that have actually quit, there are still just as many that have announced it, but have still yet to actually do so. Equally, the point was that it is just pointless to ask people if it is time to quit or if they will do so - Purely because what people say they will do, and what people do in actuality are 2 entirely different things. Even if many have quit, many have done so after months, and after repeating it a good dozen times.

No, it is not usually. Here's another user that mentioned that their sub is running out, a rather well-known criticizer of FF14 that many of the "white knights" hate: https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...53#post6292453usually - Implying not always the case. And they haven't posted in 10+ days.
I guarantee you, if you look up the people who say that their sub is running out/are quitting and actually compiled the data, at least 80% of them will actually have quit.
Please try to prove this assertion wrong by finding someone who said they'll quit and have not, because I can find five times as many demonstrating the opposite.
We're gonna have to wait til 7.5 to see if he actually quit. Normally he likes to pop in for story reviews but you're right at the very least he seems to have followed his own word.
But then we have hunkygladiator(titanmen), R104, Storm, AwesomeJr, TheDecay etc
Except I have never pretended to even want to quit the game, so why is my name in there ?
Once again, you are full of bad faith and it's absolute comedy, self awareness man, you really need some
You can check the bolded name ; ) Sadly this forum is stuck in the 90's and there is a quota of posts per day
Explain what this thread is then.
To my memory, the most I've said about quitting for good is that I might if 7.0 sucked as much as 6.0 did. Even then, I probably wouldn't as a) there are still things in the game that I like, and b) a lot of my friends still play. (and if I have said something in the past to the contrary, then I've probably changed my mind on that) It's possible to dislike parts of a game and like others. Not sure why some can't seem to understand that just because someone doesn't come here to gush over every little positive thing, that doesn't mean that they hate the entirety of the game enough to quit.

It really seems like Storm is right and some people on here think if you dislike part of the game you should just quit regardless of liking other parts.Explain what this thread is then.

Like, Awesome you dislike hrothgarwhy don't you just quit!

Yes also agree with Storm on that. Though most of my posts are positive, this game has a ton of misses for me on content. I just don't do any of it and don't care enough to talk about how much I dislike it.
I'm pretty much the opposite of this. A lot of my posts are negative (there are positive ones), but there are still things I like in this game. I just don't feel the need or desire to post about those as often. I don't really like the notion that some people seem to want to push where there is some requirement for you to balance out your positive/negative posts with the other kind.
Same, but opposite. A lot of my posts are negative. I still enjoy spending time with my friends in this game, but job design is a thing that touches the vast majority of content in this game. Its downward spiral is something I've been opposed to ever since I first smelled it in Stormblood, and it's only become worse ever since.
I'd be a lot more positive if this game just had throwaway branch content I could ignore if I had no interest in it (it does). When the trunk of the tree has rotted, I'm going to tell Square to cut it out. Boring, awful job design taints so much.
