They do have voices but they are exclusive for grunts and Link sounds along with WOOO!

When you deal with human beings, never count on logic or consistency.
Fluid like water. Smooth like silk. Pepperoni like pizza.

I don't want the WoL to have a voice, but I wouldn't mind them putting in some more of the voiced emotes using the voice we chose.
Thank you but I'd rather be mute in cutscenes than get stuck with some squealy anime schoolgirl voice. Easy enough for me to imagine what my character sounds like on those rare occasions our characters get to say something at all.A voice for the Warrior of Light, at least during important cutscenes. You can have an MMO with a voiced protagonist, look at SWTOR and GW2. If we can't have a voice, then can we have written lines so we know what we're saying. I don't want the WoL completely silent anymore. It can be implemented with an option to turn voice audio off, just as you can turn off certain sounds, so you can play as before if you don't like the change.
I think I remember them saying something about adding more accurate character emote voice samples to character creation in the 7.x updates (might be wrong about that). But I can't imagine them adding in more voiced emotes unless they re-record all voiced emotes. It gets really annoying when some emotes sound like they're recorded by completely different people.

With AI, they could collect a short sample of our voices and sync with dialogues. Would i like it? No. Sometimes gw2 made me feel disconnected. We don't know how Azem looked like exactly because of it.

I wish they updated ARR animations tho. Shb and EW animations are incredible.

Here is the problem.. I play asura in gw2, But there is only 1 asura voice. ff14 have voice option. It would be really expensive to have va over that many different voices

GW2 would be amazing if you could choose your voice, no reason why human male couldn't have voice of norn male or vice-versa. But at the same time, I love all 10 voices for each race and gender, since they're all high quality and fit the race. Some games do make a mistake of putting annoying voices a little bit too much into a spotlight, but you can prevent it by just casting a solid VAs. If you combine that with player's choice of voice, then it will be flawless.
Also, FF14 doesn't have choice of player's voice, we have a choice of player's grunts. And if GW2 can afford all of their voice actors, SE can afford it without any problem, especially since they promised to "spare no expenses". I think story would be so much better narrative-wise if center point of the whole story actually talked and gave their opinion.
I'm kinda against this, mostly because I'm annoyed at times at the emote I see my Roe doing in response to certain developments in recent scenes so part of me is feeling like I don't feel close to my own character ALREADY w/o any voicing so that part of me is like, sure why not. But knowing how they voiced other Hellsguard Roes in the game (when they decide to give them any focus that isn't for comedic effect)? I definitely don't imagine my Roe sounding anywhere near that either.
