This has been reported many times. Been linked to SE on Twitter, talked about on Reddit.

SE does not seem to care at all. It's been almost 6 months. Seems they only care if someone is getting a reward out of something.

Holy shit. That's hilarious, although, yes, absolutely selfish and a horrible thing to do in general. It is amazing that they got away with that for so long, and continue to do so to this day, if so.
Although, is it really blocking people from purchasing the plot? Couldn't you just tab target or something? I know I've accidentally tabbed to an NPC/Object more than once, so someone has to be able to do it on purpose.

These days you don't even need to do the glitch. Just download the plugin that lets you place furniture almost anywhere and you're good.

That would be an indication they don't consider that to be breaking the rules. All laws/rules are interpreted.
