FC dilemma .am I better off without fc ?

So I have tried 4-5 fc until now . Most fc even the new ones that I joined I see that first everybody is very welcoming but when few days pass then when u talk people start ignoring you .
I don't know if its general trend or I'm just unlucky .anyways in one particular fc the fc leader was very eager to somehow send us to this music bard carnival which might be interesting for some people but is not cup of tea for me .
So I am seriously thinking if I should just play the game without fc .i probably will miss one or two buffs but I can probably live without them . I am now without fc for two days now .but my playing time in the game has increased since leaving the fc and thinking about them and I am feeling less pressured and more pleasure in playing the game .what do you guys think .

FCs in XIV are just glorified chatrooms with a few none-essential perks, so if you feel like being in one is too much pressure, then you probably don't need to be in one. °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°

Nah, you don't need an FC. I know plenty of end-game players without FC's. There are really 2 things you get out of FC's:
    • social fluff
    • buffs (like EXP boosts, MGP boosts, etc)
When I say social fluff, I mean that FC's give you a chat channel* to use, gives you notifications when your FC members go on- and off-line, and gives you the opportunity to have shared storage and even a shared FC house (if you can get a plot). None of these are necessary, but if you enjoy spending time with the folks in your FC, being in an FC allows you some additional ways to interact together. But all of that is pointless if you're not in an FC with people you enjoy being with!

For buffs, an FC can have a handful of buffs active for everyone in the FC. These do a lot of minor things, like increasing EXP by 20% or lowering teleportation costs. They're nice to have, but far from mandatory. For people who want buffs but aren't interested in socializing, I've seen numerous FC's that people can join to just get buffs; I would be surprised if there weren't FC's like that on most servers! But again, your game experience won't suffer for not having buffs, so there's no need to feel pressured to join one.

You also mentioned a "pattern" of FC's being a certain way, to which I'll say that there are as many different kinds of FC's as there are different kinds of people. There are FC's that are all about doing big events everyone participates in, there are FC's where people just chat, there are FC's that are focused on raids or PvP, and there are FC's that have no focus and are just a group of friends who like being in an FC together. And more!

For now, I'd recommend you not feel pressured to join an FC. Maybe someday you'll meet someone you like and give their FC a try, or maybe you'll hear about an FC that actually sounds like a kind of experience that you'll enjoy! Or maybe not! But until then, you can just enjoy playing the game without an FC and you'll be just fine.

*there are also non-FC ways to get chat channels, called Linkpearls

Going to agree that you don't need to care about an FC much. It's worth joining one to benefit from buffs, FC chest to transfer items with alt characters, but I personally don't take them seriously or use them.

There are good FCs, but it takes effort. A medium size, such as 50 people is usually good for not being ignored. But in order for talking to happen, someone must take the initiative to discuss random things they are doing, or complain about random things, to provoke conversation (this initiative can be done by you to make all your FCs more active, because a lot of people are shy otherwise).

It also takes effort for the FC to be useful. Someone must shoulder the burden of organizing, advertising and running events, for RP, social events, or content such as farming maps, extreme trials or doing savage. This is work and effort, in a video game, so a lot of FCs don't manage it, but occasionally some do!

The ones that put in effort are often recruiting on the community finder because listing themselves there is also effort https://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...ntania&type=fc
