Spaceships

I’d love to see a new form of airship/submersible get added. I feel like with endwalker being added that spaceships would’ve fit in really well with the expansion.

I’ve only started getting into submersibles and gil farming with them. I’ve discovered an entirely new part of the community by doing so and it rewards levelling my gatherers and crafters and even the free company.

Just a suggestion for the next expansion as I’d love to start this sort of content from when they’re completely new additions. Kinda kicking myself for not starting the grind sooner as it felt fun and rewarding.

Not everyone cares for content like raids or even relics (when they’re just running the same content for months on end) but show me new reasons to craft, gather or generate gil and I’m there. I like a casual grind which is probably why I enjoyed the diadem content too.

Somehow, I don't think it's possible lore wise - it took Sharlayan over fifty years just to build the Ragnarok after all (and that was basically poaching the greatest minds in Hydaelyn and still required the combined efforts of every nation on the planet working together to source materials and components required, helped by the deadline of the Final Days progressively enroaching), and seems that it will remain for the forseeable future a novel one-off than the prototype for a new fleet of space exploring vessels.

It might be an interesting gameplay addition, but I just don't see it happening from a lore perspective.

Maybe instead of space ships, how about Garlean/Allag/Loporrit magitek in the form of buggies that scour the surface of the Moon beyond Mare Lamentorum? That should be doable with established lore and when they are deployed, they could be stored within Bestways Burrow and they set out beyond the crater walls of Mare Lamentorum. There's plenty of space inside Bestways Burrow for all FC's to store their buggies considering it was built as a huge fallout shelter for Etheirys.
