Thoughts on : Gil Sink Items

On the 4mil gil Golden Saucer mount and other gil sinks. Rant.

I think I understand the basics of the economy on "why SE has to make gil-sink items", but is that even fair? After all, right or wrong I gathered enough seal, gils, etc to make a purchase of house, mount or whatever and it took me alot of time and effort playing the game. Now to make it easier for new player to purchase thing at a "Normal" rate, SE blackholes my "accomplishment".

I know Im just ranting, but its pretty much the same for everything. Who cares about the latest savage, if by next patch gear all but worthless.

It' be one thing is all "relic gear" needed the gear before it as part of the "recipe" that way players couldn't just ignore content and move on. Realistically, I also understand at some point every player would have maybe acquire all items and have no more "content".

What are you thinking of when you say that SE has made it easier to purchase and so "blackholes" your accomplishment? You admit it's a bit of a rant but it's really not making sense to me. I have no idea what point you're trying to make.

Gil sinks in general are necessary. They are fair in the sense that every player gets charged the same depending on which gil sink (and how it's being used if applicable).

Your achievement is your achievement. Nothing takes it away from you. It doesn't matter to me that others can now macro craft their way to getting a Pteranodon. I know the hundreds of hours of manual crafting I put in to get it back in Shadowbringers and that's all that matters to me. For me it represents what I did to get it, not what others do..

There should be a lot more Gil Sink items, not a few 25 million or even 50 million Gil mounts here and there, but because SE put everything that looks decent in the cash shop instead, we cant have that.

Housing is a good gil sink. It would be much better if SE would make it easier for all players to get housing with larger item limits. I'm frequently vendoring and repurchasing vendor only items so I'll be able to store more expensive and/or harder to obtain items.

I also wish they would start adding cosmetic versions (no level/role restrictions) of popular role gear items to vendors as additional gil sinks. It's crazy when I find a nice pair of earrings then have to store 3-4 versions of it in my glamour dresser because of role restrictions. I'm fine if they want to add level/progress restrictions to purchase (ie if the original item drops in a level 71 dungeon, you need to have completed the dungeon before you can purchase the cosmetic copy) but they're missing out on a great opportunity here for gil sinks not to mention for players to make more efficient use of their glamour dressers.

I don't recall the prices dropping on these gil sink items. Houses are always sold at the top price (no more price dropping since they don't sit unpurchased). Last I checked, the 50M gil mount like the Gilded Mikoshi is still 50M gil. I don't recall seeing a promo code to get it cheaper. And the 4M MGP mount is MGP... not gil.

And what exactly does gil sink have to do with the latest savage?

Gil Sinks - Put Upkeep on housing and Apartments

2 millions for large
1 millions for medium
750k for small
250k for apartments
50K for FC apartments

Auto demolition process starts when you don't got enough gil to pay it.

It would clean up in alot of ward owning and the likes as well and multi housing as well as having a better gil sink for people that want a new house as well.
