Game crashing to desktop at/after character select

Hi, I'm having trouble launching the game. I recently upgraded some hardware and did a full system restore. I tried downloading and running FFXIV, but the game crashes once I reach the character select or once I try logging in with a character. I've been troubleshooting for a few days now and am out of ideas.

Important notes:
I have a wired connection
I launch the game through the launcher (not steam)
I can watch the opening movies without issue
There is no error code (the game just exits to desktop once I choose a character and attempt to log in)
My main character is missing his head...?
I cannot install the game on the C: drive because it won't fit
A few of the fixes I tried resulted in getting an error code with a bunch of dx errors
I cannot seem to "downgrade" to DX11 in any way
All other games played on the computer work just fine, no issues

Tried but failed fixes:
Updated drivers
Reinstalled game
Reset System Settings
Reset Game Data
Tried playing in DX9 (didn't even make it to character select)
Updated DX12
Run game as admin
Disabled any overlays
Changed compatibility mode to Win8
Disabled full screen optimization
Capped FPS
Enabled lowest possible graphics settings
Run game in Borderless Windowed/Fullscreen/Windowed
Disabled Firewall
Deleted temp files such as character data in documents folder
Ran sfc/scannow through command prompt to repair any corrupted files (which it said it found and repaired)
Removed all peripherals except for keyboard and mouse

What Platform are you using? (Steam/Windows/Mac/PS4 etc.)
Does the issue occur with one character or multiple characters?
At what point does the issue occur?
How often does the issue occur?

Could you provide the exact error message received?
Are you running any additional programs alongside Final Fantasy XIV?
When the crash happens, is the PC over heating at all?

Would it be possible to move files around to make space on your default drive, the C: drive? The default drive works best with Final Fantasy XIV.

Please note, for your GPU [AMD Radeon RX 6650 XT], it appears a newer driver version may have been available on [07/06/2023]. Please try updating your driver since your last attempt.
