I also had that thought, the mere mention that you have to bear the title as the Warrior of Darkness I was like: "Oooh boy we gonna cause some chaos!"

But you still do good deeds, I was utterly disappointed. If the game actually steered towards a path of villainy to save the world then there would be lots of inner conflict among our group of know-it-alls but damn they dropped the ball hard the trailer even shown Derplander losing to a Lightwarden because being the Warrior of Light won't cut it anymore so he was forced to take in the power of darkness but no, throughout the entire story you just absorb more powers of light.
