Jumping puzzle GATEs (Leap of Faith etc.) need to go

It's quite ridiculous that over half of the GATEs one does in Gold Saucer is a jump puzzle. And yet another half of these are the Black Shroud Leap of Faith. It is frankly becoming stale very quickly.

Bring back old GATEs (except perhaps the skin change GATE that not many liked), and make new ones. At the very least reduce the frequency of the Black Shroud Leap of Faith.

The Gold Saucer has a lot of potential. It was such a shame to see that new content for the place was touted as an expansion feature only for it to turn out to be another jumping puzzle with a different backdrop.

I definitely agree that the rug was sort of pulled from the feet with the new feature being another leap. I wouldn’t mind blitz ball even if it was purely like can’t play against other people, could even do the FFX thing of travelling tbr world recruiting people and you use Gil to purchase their services for contracts for X amount of games. It would be a way of sinking in Gil and bumping mgp and putting rewards in to.

But troll OP of course wants to remove content rather then ask for content to be added makes total sense right /s

I kinda wish the gold saucer had more actual IRL casino games (maybe games like poker or BS or actual slot machines but that might be illegal lol) with gil betting instead of MGP. Or if they've gotta do the MGP thing, maybe update the MGP shops more often 'cause there's nothing in there I even want so you could hand me 1 million MGP and I wouldn't feel a thing. Like, maybe instead of putting a new hairstyle/mount in the shop for 20 dollars during a content drought, put it in the gold saucer instead and more people will actually give a shit about make it rain.

I wish they had stuff like this. Right now all the games are no risk with barely any reward. The only reason to play any of them is to complete challenge log requirements, and you'd have to be seriously bad to lose MGP on them. Games where I could risk losing MGP, but also receive a larger payout would be great, and would make MGP grinding more interesting. I'm trying to save up for the mounts, and it's just a lot of standing around to complete weekly requirements, and then waiting for the next week to do them again. Other than Cactpot, there's not much you can do to make any serious MGP.

More mini-games and attention to existing mini-games in general would be welcome. And if they do add more mini-games I would hope it's not another Mahjong-like mini-game that takes half an hour or even an hour for a single match.

Unfortunately they have already given a bit of a response about the possibility of IRL casino games and having things use actual gil instead of MGP. Apparently doing these things would run afoul of the gambling laws in several countries in which they operate (to include the US as gambling is illegal in quite a few states). The only reason the Cactpot was even able to circumvent gambling laws (aside from the lotto being treated separately from other gambling in many places) is because of the fact that it uses MGP instead of gil as MGP is seen as a 'ticket' currency one would get at an arcade rather than real currency.

Isn't the consolation prize amount higher than the ticket price? I assume they get past the gambling aspect by the fact that you can't even lose MGP on it as long as you remember to hand in your ticket.
