I wonder, wouldn't the next big FF MMO have been better suited to take place in a different world? Sure, Eorzea is a different world... but is it -really-?

What if the game took place either IN Ivalice or just a world fashioned after Ivalice? Instead of Galka, how about Seeq? Instead of Mithra, wouldn't Viera be a welcome change? Replace the Taru with the playable Moogle race, or perhaps the wise Nu Muo? And surely the Bangaa would be an impressive alternate to Elvaan . . and you even get to keep your more generic Humans for the play-it-safe crowd.

I know this has probably been discussed before, but as a life-long FF fan my heart literally aches just thinking about this missed opportunity.
I like Eorzea and the FFXIV races. Ivalice might have been a nice setting for an MMO too, or a mild clone thereof, but ... FFXIV still has an identity even if the races are somewhat replicated from FFXI. It's not that hard to appreciate the world and races of FFXIV, really. And it's purely subjective to think Ivalice and its races would be better, and nevertheless, we may have those races eventually anyways.
