    Please explain then?

Team 1 with a DRG, SGE, RDM, BLM, MCH. You have 2 jobs with extremely strong burst with DRG and MCH and RDM while not super bursty, will nuke you if you're not paying attention AND it has an aoe debuff and a line aoe silence and BLM can wreak havoc on a heavy melee team with its ice spam.

Team 2 is heavier on the melee side, so yes they can dive easier and cause a heavy snowball depending on the map, but they also have to expose themselves and be much more aggressive which can easily go against them with the other team having equally similar burst and more jobs with CC.

Team 2 has a slight advantage due to being able to be more aggressive, but realistically both team compositions have a strong chance of winning. The problem is a lot of people that play ranged don't really play them correctly. They tend to be too skittish and don't engage when they should and run away too early leading to the team being too scattered and making it easy for a heavy melee team to confirm kills. In the reverse a competent group of ranged players will make a dive team chase and easily cause team 2 to overextend leading to easy kills.

If I was on team 1 I wouldn't feel like the match was immediately lost before the fight even starts, especially if its a group of competent ranged players. Even if it was a group of skittish ranged players I could play that to my advantage and secure my own kills to someone staying in the backline while the melee run around chasing people. There are so many wild scenarios here and I just don't see one team immediately dominating the other team on composition alone.

There is no exposing itself when you can overwhelm the enemy while they melt twice as fast as you. There is not much else to add really. Those melees besides WAR also don't have a lesser burst potential, and offer way more CC options (especially hard stuns).

The real problem is that you have no idea what it is to face top players playing meta melee DPS. They hard counter non mobile ranged DPS, period, no matter how good or bad you are. Being good just ensures that they won't always get you, that's pretty much it. Some ranged DPS jobs are better designed in that they actually have the tools to defend themselves or just get out of trouble way better, aka RDM (mobility, gap closers or jump out, and also built for duelling which alone is a HUGE deal, and if anything its burst is built more like melees than ranged, which also makes it way more available on demand). Any team full of melees that decides they want a BLM/MCH/SMN/SGE/BRD dead will probably get them dead no problem. Guard won't save them. A melee can retreat if they take too much heat, it's fine because the rest of the melees will still be on their asses.

That's not the worst. There was Once l made it to gold 1, then l kept getting bronze 3 teammates and went back down to gold 4

RDM is not a problem yeah. It's not hard countered by half the job roster.
