Square-Enix knows all and sees all.
But they won't necessarily make a big deal of it.

And you decided to create a thread discussing basic knowledge people have been aware of for years....because?
WoW does it too. Just mention ragnaros realm to some mythic plus players.
Also Blizzard banwaved 10k rotation bot users the other day. It can be done, it requires manpower and selling upper management on diverting employees to non-content related duties, and that is hard.
clip of the news from reddit.
IMO if it were up to me FFXIV would be using a licensed copy of Riot's Vanguard anti-cheat. I pretend PvP doesn't exist in multiplayer games for a reason. Unfortunately we'd lose reshade (fancy gfx) and specialk (fixes borderless fullscreen and variable refresh rate) access if FFXIV gained an anti-cheat.

Why in the flying Fu...ry would SE use Riot's Vanguard. Thats a terrible idea. That thing hooks up to your PC on a kernel level, it literally requires a full reboot or it wont work (or if you want to start it again.)
Its a terrible anti-consumer practice, clunky and invasive. And it's somehow "justified" by the fact that Valorant is a highly competitive game and they host tournaments worth big cash on the official servers.
For Final Fantasy? Heck no.

And we'd gain absolutely nothing for it. pvp is already a joke in this game, long before you even think about loading into a match that has a cheater in it.WoW does it too. Just mention ragnaros realm to some mythic plus players.

An MMO having player made third party programs or sites to communicate outside the game to share UI or insights into the game? No, the genre doesn't have a history of that, it's not like FF14 was not built using the design ideas of old WoW addons baked in. Quest helper showing the quest targets on a mini map? Never heard of it? DBM showing the boss's next attack a few seconds before with the name of the attack? No boss in FF14 has a bar that does that. The ability to move your UI around freely like Xpearl? Were is that? The ability to snap your combat bars together when setting up your UI, like Bartender? Nope never seen that in FF14.
Next thing people will say is that the old threat tracking addon that colour coded the mobs was in this game too....
Player

Some components of it have to run with Administrator privileges. Otherwise it is not possible to inject code into the client or intercept network packages because Windows will prevent it.
