Though IMO a fair amount of the raiding aspect was lost due to the tiered stage design. Even Coil and Alexander didn't feel like an actual raid when compared to doing things like Dynamis in FFXI.
Alexander at least still felt like you're raiding an actual place, slowly progressing through the interior of a robot that seems to be a city as well, where people actually live.

The raids since then feel like a bunch of arenas with pretty skyboxes, loosely strung together.
