Seeing the same people in roulettes

I've begun seeing the same players in roulettes. I would do a trial roulette, see player X, then do an normal raid roulette and see player X again. This is now happening on a weekly basis for me.

This never happened to me before Endwalker. The fact that it is happening now means only one thing: players are no longer actually playing the game, which is why the pool of players is so small that the chance of seeing the same person is now very high in Endwalker.

Before the COVID delays and then the permanent widening of the gap between patches, right now is when we would usually have the new expansion, every other summer up until Shadowbringers (July 2019). This time we're not even on X.5 patch and the first fan fest venue yet. It's rough for a game with short life linear content.

It's always happened to me actually, on any data center. If I see a tank or a healer in a trial roulette, I will often immediately see them in the normal raid roulette or vice versa. Sometimes I have even seen people I just did a leveling roulette with in the trial or normal raid roulette. It's obviously because tanks and healers get those instant queues and essentially land in the same duty if they queue at the same time.

I've also met people I've seen before or know from other places a lot of times, although this usually either happens when I queue at the exact same time as I did the previous day or it's because their name was particularly memorable and I've just done a lot of duties over many years.

Great bait mate I rate it 8/8 try again another day Back in 5.3/4 I kept bumping into 2 people on my weekly alliance and trial runs....wooop de doo.

All reliable show the active playerbase at several hundreds of thousands of people, it's just natural when you cycle through roulette queues that other people (usually tanks/healers) also cycling thru the queues end up in several groups together. Pool of players, though, is enormous right now.

They could just be Queuing and playing at the same time as you and doing the same content, so naturally you just get matchmaked.
I see some of the same people during a Pandemonium Weekly Reset, because we are just getting our weekly drops on the same day during the same hour.

If it's people farming the same as me as it is the mount it's cool and we non stop joke about it, also good because i know they play well

Can't be all that low in population if people who absolutely hate the game are still paying for it and log in daily. I mean the people who hate the game play it more than I do and I'm between Neutral to slightly more positive to the game.

The people hating on the game all strangely spend the most money too. It's quite hilarious.
