Been enjoying the 50% bonus mgp event spending a lot of time at the golden saucer but I never expected this....My friends were telling me after it happened they've played for years and never got past 4 matched numbers.

And here I am brand new to the game just under a week in playtime, and having no clue what to buy with it

Congratulations! I've been playing the cactpot for a year (I didn't know it existed for 6 months after I started), and the best I've gotten is 2 numbers. As far as what to buy with it, I'd suggest holding on to it for a while until you know FF14 a little better, and eventually you WILL know what you want!

I got 3 numbers twice. Once on Cactpot #3 or 4. Then another last year. I've probably played in about 80% of all jumbo cactpots. However, even with the addition of playing 3 tickets per week instead of just 1, I still wouldn't expect to win the Jumbo. The odds are not in your favor. Congrats to the OP for winning.

Seconding the advice to hold onto it for now. The cap on MGP iirc is 9,999,999 so unless you start winning back-to-back cactpots you're in no rush to start spending.

If you're after some nice glamour, the Gold Saucer sells a few sets.

I haven't done this year's event yet, but from previous years I recall that completing the event questline unlocked a special vendor with discounted prices on MGP items, so it would be a good idea to look through that and try on all the outfit pieces they have on sale. If you haven't tried on outfits before, you just right-click the item (or press Square on controller) and select Try On to see it on your character.

My favourite pieces from the Gold Saucer are the Makai sets which are fairly expensive so getting a discount on them is good. (Though note that you can get better dyeable versions of the same outfits at level 60 by doing PVP, so don't buy everything "just in case". Just get things you might want to use at low levels.)

If you buy outfits, you'll also need to do a quest at Vesper Bay to unlock glamours so you can apply them to your gear.
